With the trail finder 2 coming close to being done, update soon for that, I figured I’d do a fairly quick build on my rs4 sport 3 flux.
I’ve had the car for almost a year now but it’s been mostly stock for that time until more parts came in with more on the way. Anyways here is the car as it sits right now:
Before I ever ran the car I replaced the rx with a 2 channel airtronics receiver. The first time I ran it was on 3s, and I have to admit that I almost sold the car right after that first run. For having a 4000kv motor stock on 3s it was quite slow, I’ve ran some pretty quick on road cars with similar setups and they would’ve put this thing to shame.
After doing some research I found that exotek racing made a lightened driveshaft as well as adjustable camber links so I ordered them right away. The next run, the car was completely different! It was a lot faster going up and down the street but didn’t have a lot of traction at slower speeds, probably because of the slick tires.
Only other things replaced have been 2 spur gears and the stock servo deciding to call it quits early on. Now it’s got a savox 1251 with a tlr horn.
Anyways now onto the reason why I started this thread. Since the lightened exotek driveshaft made such a huge difference with the car I figured why not go full exotek parts for the drivetrain since they are all lighter than stock? So I am! I picked up 2 sets of the clamping wheel hex’s to get rid of the stock plastic ones, also the spur gear mount as well as 2 sets of the ring gears. I did not however go with the spool as I want to see how it does with these parts first and then maybe get one for the front.
There are a few more parts coming this week so I’ll update the thread when they all get here.
