Bunch of new parts, no steering.

So I put a new motor/ESC into my son's yeti Jr can am.

Well that snow balled into a new steering servo and receiver. I finally got all the parts and put it together tonight. Problem is I don't have anything from the steering servo. I did the binding procedure and I have all the throttle in the world but no steering servo action.

Receiver/transmitter is a spectrum 300slr and the steering servo is a savox SH-0263MG. ESC is mamba x micro.

What could I of done wrong? Or is the servo DOA?

In other news I should have bought him something else.

So the channel is correct, is the orientation also correct? You can plug it in backwards and it wont work, make sure signal goes to signal negative to negative positive to positive.

If thats all good try swapping the steering servo to the throttle channel and the ESC to the steering channel. If the steering works and the throttle does not its likely a receiver issue.

This is the best way to test servos, or anything plugged into the receiver. Definitely proves something everytime

Well the plug was reversed. Not sure why I didn't think of that. Now the servo is trying to move, but it isn't making any power.....

stock servo looks to have a lot more torque:

4.8V Torque: 34.9 oz-in (2.5 kg-cm)
• 6.0V Torque: 41.8 oz-in (3.0 kg-cm)

The new Savox has:

Torque:

@ 4.8V: 11.1 oz-in
@ 6.0V: 16.7 oz-in

I apparently screwed up along the way. I read several reviews of that being a good replacement servo for the yeti Jr. ( I'd have to go look but i swear I ordered the right servo)

I think I even saw it in the yeti Jr mega thread on here.

In other news I found him a good deal on a Honcho that's on market place this morning.

And he ran my bomber into a wall last night and fragged the stock servo.

These things are worse than my real jeep. ( Sorta)

I just took a second look and it appears you might have ended up with the SH-0264MG (11-16 oz/in) or the SH-0263 (25-30 oz/in) but maybe you had intended to get the The SH-0255 (43-54 oz/in) or SH0256 (54-63.9oz/in)?

See their whole micro servo line here: https://www.savoxusa.com/collections/micro-servos

2.2" rigs can destroy a servo in no time when bashed. You might consider a servo saver if thats how it will be driven. Most name brand servos have rebuild kits (new gears) BTW, might be worth looking into.

Probably. I'm not above making mistakes that's for sure.

I'm going to order the correct part # from an actual hobby store instead of Amazon this time around.

He didn't mean to run it into the wall, he's only 9 and I forgot to run the throttle stop on. I'm pretty sure the servo is dead, it's making noise just sitting there, like it's shorting out in the case.

I appreciate the advice.

I had ordered the 3d printed battery tray for it, and it says I can mount a full size low profile servo like a Solar-D770, but they are out of stock everywhere. What would be a good substitute ?
