BC-Brian's Real life Unlimited MOW with a dash of something crazy

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/4Qc9aP3lY8A?rel=0&controls=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

A little video footage from this past weekend with the MOW. The guys had a good time watching it run and were pretty surprised by just how d@mn loud the fan is. "thumbsup"

In a few instances it doesnt crawl very well or makes a terrible noise and that is because;

The motors are not sensored so i have pretty much 0 torque at low speed :\

Gearboxes are 3D printed plastic and the bearing retainers are starting to wear out.

Checked out the video, VERY COOL!!!! Sounds like a shop-vac in that thing.."thumbsup"

Josh Elliot from Extreme Scale Performance RC came to Vegas and joined the rest of us crazy comp crawlers the RCORVA offroad world championships in the Valley of Fire just outside Vegas (Sept 11-13).

As far as I can tell this is the only video of it running around out in Vegas. This is a long movie but you can see the mow at the beginning and at 21:13 in.

Thanks again Josh for all the effort to make this movie.

That video is sick! If you read the comments they mention ur rig a lot! I wish my work would let me machine some aluminum parts for you instead of the 3d printed stuff.

I wish your work would let you do that too

Im working on it. I did manage to bang out a few sets of links so im on the right track. If I get the ok we can meet up and draw up some blueprints. I would do the work for nothing, it would just be cool to be a part of the future of rc crawling.

Nice work as always B! How much power is the turbine using at full rpm?, or better yet, running 4 motors? That battery looks bigger than what you usually run from what I remember.

Not sure what the wattage is on the ducted fan, i should check that for S & G's. It is connected to a 30A controller so it probably yanks pretty hard. The larger battery is to tolerate the load from the fan without sagging to hard.

That beast is amazing. Its a shame about the motors having very little torque at low speed. Like you said maybe Sensored motors will work better.
Cheers for the build thread.

Thanks man,

One of these days when I have a little more time I will get out there and get some sensored motors for it.

hurry up there are millions of us waiting for this to come to production lol"thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup":lmao:

HA if there were actually a million people waiting for it, trust me it would definitely be done. "thumbsup"

If there were 10 people waiting for it then it would probably be done.
