Bashers wheel/tire selection

I've owned the kit XL for maybe 2 weeks, bought used and needed to repair some things first. Got it back together last night and ran it for the first time on full battery charge for 20minutes or so. I brought it back in and noticed some areas they started to rip off the wheel. So I re-glued them before they got worse...as I read is common.

I quickly realized that the stock Falken tires (due to tall sidewalls) like to roll over when cornering while on grass or pavement. I am looking into some opinions on a wider (for cornering stability) and thinner sidewall (for anti tire roll over) opinions. This rig could benefit from a slightly wider stance IMO.

I came across the look I like with the
Rock Rage 3.8 on F11/Desperado wheels

Or the Trencher X's on F11/Desperado wheels:

Cheaper option seems to be Thunder Tiger MT4 G3 wheels with either tire above?

Ive seen the trenchers on a xl before but never saw it run any high speed to tell the difference but the person said it made a difference since there little shorter and wider. Im not a fan of the way it looks though. Another option is crawler innovation 3.8 single stage foams for the stock tires, that will help a TON. Stiffer rear sway bar and front sway bar will help cornering too.

Thanks for the tip. I have a autocrossing mentality...so I approach this truck as such. Maybe I'll be asking for it to do something it's inherently not designed to do....corner at decent speed. Most of my issues are slowing down and turning and the truck nosedives and wants to be flip-happy. A wider stance and possibly adding some negative camber to the front wheels may help.

This kit XL with 100% stock setup on a Castle Creations Sidewinder 8th setup on 5S is quick enough for me actually. I have two new SPC 2S batteries on their way because I feel better running similar batteries per side.

Gorilla tape on the inside of the stock tires will help pancaking and I think it helps bite on dirt. I've read that the Rock Rages are nice and almost picked some up myself. I would assume the Proline rims will be much better than the stock. Their a bit shorter, which is why I'm not getting them. Someone on here put them on with some wideners and it look good. I don't know what he used to widen the stance. HR makes a kit for RTR and kit to widen.

The throttle helps, even on high traction surfaces (maybe not concrete). It's a tricky RC to get the hang of. The more packs you put through it the more fun it will be. Soon jumping will be second nature and using the throttle to power out of a sharp turn will be cake. The more you drive it on the edge of the envelope, the more fun it is.

Trees suck though.

Thanks for the replies. I was chasing the dogs around last night and one of their chew stick got wedged in the frame/control arm....snap! Looks like for RPM arms are in order...

My last set of the BFG Krawlers I Gorrilla taped and they have all come loose and its just floating around inside the tire. And that's with no water or mud.

not that it makes a difference and im sure you prepped them...but when I installed gorilla tape I reinstalled them on the rims in side out ran one layer with a 1" over lap then I sled them in the oven on LOW just long enough to get the tape EXTRA soft... took them out individually and applied pressure to each one till they cooled down....

I also sound my shop light works great for releasing the glue around the wheels wile Im wrenching ..
