Anyone have any info on Axialfest badlands 2025?

I’ve never been. Have a group of buddies who want to go but now it says ticket sales are over. What’s up with that? Are they full? Is there no signing up at the event or preregistration officially over?

First tried the website for the campground but it showed no available sites. 30 minutes later it showed 150 spots available. So I called and confirmed.

I just don’t want to make the 4+ hour drive and be disappointed at the registration.

I've been going the last 3 years and it's been an awesome time, if you can get a camping spot it's worth it. The ticket sale stuff is insane though, I just checked today and saw that. I can't believe they'd close it this early, it's ridiculous. They do still let you buy tickets at registration, but you get some free stuff if you get them online (bags, clothes, stickies, etc). It's a great event though, I'd recommend going if you can.

Definitely gonna make it out. It looks like a good time. I’ve never been so I don’t know what to expect. I’m used to g6s and those are just always fun.

I saw somewhere horizon said it was an error. So hopefully I can get tickets before to show up there.

Can confirm, it's so much fun. My only complaint is that it can get pretty hot out there, so I'd pack some mini fans and some cold water. I always bring dollar tree handheld fans and use them, they work great. I'm curious to see what's new this year, as they've been consistently adding new trails and obstacles each year. Also definitely do the nightly raffles, they have them every evening and they're completely free. I've won two times myself, it's definitely worth it.

Oh that's awesome if true, I hope that's the case. I'll check back in a week or so and see if anything changes.

Here is the link to the page about Axialfest so people like me won’t ask you for it.

Well, that’s a shame lol looks like I found out

Trash company. Have lots of friends who have campsites and won’t be receiving a refund for them. Greed always ruins it.

Wow, they canceled everything.

I don't see how people who reserved a campsite can't get a refund over a month out. I'd contest that with my credit card company if they were trying to pull that mess for a now canceled event weekend.

Oh man that's total bs, I hope there's an actual reason for it. Hopefully my parents didn't reserve a campsite yet.

It’s speculation but some vendors are saying the vendors were to pay a crap ton to be apart of it, many declined. I’m assuming horizon was using vendor funds to run the event. Who knows.

I do know that axial is what brought me into the crawler world, but it sucks to see axial not be apart of the community anymore.

But its not just Axialfest. They canceled all their live events it looks like other than PLBTF (so far).

Horizon RC Fest, Axialfest Badlands, ARRMAGEDDON and Axialfest Europe for 2025 all canceled. Rc fest is more flying iirc, and of course Arrma is all bashing.

I'd say when you can no longer know exactly how much your product is going to cost to procure (random tariffs, constantly changing), the cost of essential items (like clothes, shoes, etc) going up, an already iffy economy in the industry, that not running marketing events that might not even be able to break even is probably a good business decision.

After all, if horizon goes totally belly up then those events have no chance of being held.

I honestly couldn't care less if Axial goes under at this point. They're just not a brand I care about any longer because of disappointing release after disappointing release. The problem is Horizon bought up great brands like Proline. I want that company to stick around.

Surely Horizon's finances can't be this close to the red...can they? Maybe focusing on trying to become a monopoly and pushing quality, parts support, inventory, release dates, and happy customers to the side was a bad decision that is finally catching up to them.

Regardless of their business decision to cancel the event, how do they expect people to still be loyal to them? When you pull the rug right out from people, they will go elsewhere.

Tell me how the ticket prices alone, aren’t enough to cover some, or most, of the expenses? My three tickets I would have purchased would have been over $100. How many people show up to an axial fest? Over 100? 200?

I see the vendor issues first hand with the recon g6. Rc4wd doesn’t appear to be a sponsor anymore, along with others. It does make the event less “appealing” each year but I will still go. No matter what, because Parker and the g crew are like friends now. My kids love talking to Parker and seeing him drive his rig on the trail with them. That’s what this community is about.

Yes, horizon has a lot of overhead. That’s obvious, but cancelling events is only going to make it worse. Less people will be buying their products, die hards won’t trust them anymore.

It’s a shame all around.

Agreed!

And even if they don't fully cover the event with entry fees, I'm guessing it can be written off in the advertising budget.

While tariffs and all the economic uncertainty is true, put the politics aside.

This is not what the rc community is about. The events are chances for people to come together, hang out with people who enjoy the same thing you do, inviting new people into the hobby.

A company that has so much power over the market, shows its true colors when they cancel events that hundreds of people planned to go to, with their kids, wives, friends, etc.

Can’t help to think about my cat jumping into a bag on the counter yesterday and it was on the edge, so it fell off, he stayed in the bag until it hit the ground. This isn’t about a cat btw

A good captain goes down with their ship.
