Axial SCX10 Chevy Clod Build Body Done COMP MUD PICS 12/6

Hey guys I have got about five projects getting ready to start and this is the first one I am going for. Done got the scx10 built and getting ready to put on a hand brothers steering upgrade. I am now working on a brand new clod body and I got the hold bow tie grill also and it needs some work also. I think I am going to put a tool box in the back and maybe make a tire mount to put a spare in the back. I have a set of rc4wd 1.55 white wheels coming in with a set of 1.55 mud slingers. Think they will look killer with it. Just don't know what color I am going to put on it. Also I need to pull in the rear axle a little bit. Need to measure but could I cut the four rear links to the exact length to get what I need?? Are they threaded all the way through? Anyways here are some pics of the body.

Just got my 1.55 wheels and tires in and I think I am going to have to cut the fenders some. Does anyone know where to get some rubber fender guards? I know I can get the plastic ones but I thought someone was making the rubber ones.

What tires did you get? Im runnin 1.55 slingers on my clod crew cab. And SDI makes rubber flares

That is the same thing I have. Did you have to cut your fenders any? You got a build thread I can look at or some pics?

I believe I may have used the wrong bondo!!!! I used the glazing and spot putting and I have some cracking and it will not stay flush with the body???? Is it me or is it that?? Anyways I hope it is that so I bought some actual bondo and am going to try that tommorrow after the primer drys real good. Take a look at the pics below and you will see. Also the first pic is my chassis and new wheels and tires. I have a set of SDI black rubber fender flares coming and ordered the metal emblem set from scaleoffroad.

Here are some pics of the body after primer. You may be able to see what I am talking about with the cracks and low level of the filler. Did I do something wrong??

The pics below show it with the wheelbase. I believe I need to cut the rear 4 links off about 1/2 inch to 5/8 but will try the 1/2 first. Will this method work?

Here is the colors I am going to spray whenever I can get this body work thing figured out. The chrome will be going on the bowtie grill I got and don't know if I am going to paint the bumpers black or chrome. Going with the dark metallic brown for the main color and the center color around the body will be a creme.

Got the body work done and went to my first comp with it. You can see we had a pretty good mud pit and I almost made it all the way though. Oh well that is what winches are for.

Still left to do list.
Mount custom front and rear bumpers and sliders
Mount winch inside front bumper
Add scaleoffroads metal decals
Mount SDI Fender flares
Build tool box and add sme scale items in the back
Mount a usable spare tire in the back

Here is some more pics of the truck now and the aftermath. Got get it cleaned up and start working on it again.

Just got a novak 55t on it so doesn't have much on the wheel speed. I got a novak 45t and I also have an integy 35t lathe. Have never ran the 35t lathe is it about the same as a regular 35t???

Truck looks good. Those 1.5ers look sweet"thumbsup" I i had to guess on your filler problem looks like from the color you might have mixed to much hardener making it to hot and causing the shrinks and cracks

I just went away with the bondo and went with squardron putty filler and that stuff worked great. I kept getting the 3m bondo brand to attack the plastic and cause all sorts of damage to it. Thanks for the comments guyz.
