Axial 1/18 Yeti (and Yeti Score)

One of the reasons I decided to go 1/10 was that working on 1/24 was soo painful with all the tiny parts and screws. I have about 300 CDN in my SCTE which is now a shelf queen. I was considering selling the Trekker but since it's in mint condition and discontinued I decided to hang on to it.

I have about the same into my Trekker, but I'm in the same boat; all the tiny parts and screws are a hassle. I've stripped out so many because the tiny parts aren't hardened steel nor are the tools. Everything is so soft that if it's in too tight, you're going to strip it almost immediately. When I got the RC4WD bead lock wheels, I stripped out probably 1/5th of the screws on them b/c they were in too tight. I had to dremel slots in the screws so I could get a screw driver in there. Now that I've had the wheels for about a year, I keep losing some of the screws b/c they don't stay tight...

My point being, 1/24 is a shit scale. I'm relaly hoping this Yeti Jr has better hardware than the Trekker and it's 3rd party upgrades.

Just saw the SC28 email from Tower. Every time I've seen the 'new release' emails this week I get ready for a 1/18 Yeti. Damn you AXIAL!!!

I saw that 1/28 scale truck as well. I wonder if it's another micro SCT clone just labeled as 1/28 scale. As far as stripped screws on micro Crawlers I've yet to strip one since the original losi micro crawler about what? 10 years ago? I'm just using cheap integy and dynamite drivers

I use a set of the Dynamite drivers and haven't stripped any since getting them. The smaller bolts use less torque. I've stripped more on my SCX10 than anything else.

The SC28 looks to be something slightly different. I've got three daughters and a wife all with shoulder length hair. RCs indoors and long hair don't go well together.

It's nothing like the Losi Mini SCT. The Associated chassis looks like a garbage toy.

Mini and micros don't have staying power. That's why they come and go so often.

THe Latrax Teton and SST are awesome machines once you pop in rc18 ball diffs. Once I burned out my second stock motor running lipos, I took the brushless plunge and have gotten many hours of insane entertainment with minimal repairs. Just a few spurs here and there from running balls out at the track and landing on throttle.

Yea, so.... where is this 1/18 Yeti? Hurry up. I do repairs at a local hobby shop and asked our hobbico rep about it. She claimed to not know what I was talking about until I showed her this thread. Then she said "somebodies gonna be in trouble..."

Looks like Axial is finally talking! Should be a live video on Axial's fb page shortly

I will pass on this. Doesn't do much for me. I have a yeti 1/10 and haven't even put a battery in it yet . Been sitting on the shelf for 2 Years now. There has got to be a bomber on the way hopefully in a mini class to compete with the ambush. The whole limited quantities thing ...Really:roll:.

Watched the Axial video (need to check out HemiStorm's video), but I didn't see anything that pointed to the rig being brushless ready/capable? The gears all seem to be plastic, so not sure if it's qualified as brushed only. Brandon (or someone else), can you please clarify?

Thanks,
Steve
