Round 5 of the BPRCA summer series is here and I am glad to announce its our 2nd annual night event at the moonrocks!

When: Saturday, August 16th 2008'

round5b.jpg

Last year we were mesmerized until four in the morning with obstacles such as disco ball canyon, strobe light alley, streaming cables of carnage, toxic shitz creek and teeter totter to hell, all highlighted with glowing cones.

For 2008 the mad scientist himself is bringing it back with a new obstacle named "levitation leap" and the first ever BPRCA "traxxas slash bash" and BPRCA rock race.

We are also being blessed with the presence of RC CRAWLING GREATNESS!
Team axial racing! Jeff and Matt are making it up to Reno once again for this must attend event. Rumor has it Charlie from Team Novak will also be attending the event. It should be fun to see if they can hold the fluids until 4am!

Info you will need to know!

this is a camping event, bring everything you need for the competition and camping. I believe multiple competitors will be camping Friday night as well.

3:30pm Traxxas slash tech begins

4:00 pm the Slash Bash begins:

The race will consist of (2) 10 minute heats and a 15 minute main. The Slashes must be "ALL STOCK" with a factory pre-assembled 6 cell nimh battery only!(no race packs or lipo's). The only upgrades allowed are a different radio system. entry is $5.00 and the total purse will be split between 1st thru 3rd place.

This will be a side by side competition with a maximum cap of 20 slashes.
(20 = carnage). There will be a 25 minute break in between each heat and the main.

est end of the slash bash is 5:30pm

5:30 pm tech for the rock race begins

6:00 pm the rock race starts:

6:30pm, If your were one of our judges or assistants for the Axial West Coast Championships, CKRC hobbies would like to say thank you by cooking you dinner and serving you drinks for an hour. HELL YA!

The rock race is being sponsored by Lahontan Valley Diagnostics and they have thrown in a 175.00 cash purse for the winners. Payouts are 100 first, 50.00 second and 25.00 for third.

THE RULES:

The race will be a bracket type side by side race. There will be a cap at 18 rigs with a $5.00 entry.

rigs must comply to the bprca 2.2 pro or novice vehicle requirements.

Two drivers will line up at course A and B and the race will begin. Once there finished or the 3 minute time limit has run out, the drivers will switch courses from B to A and run again. The best time from the 2 courses will be the winner and move up to the next bracket. If you are the fastest loser in heat 1or 2 you may receive a bump up back into the bracket.

Cones and banners are a 10 second penalty for each one you hit.

If you need to rollover your rig, a 30 second penalty will be added for each rollover. rollovers must be done just like in bprca regular competitions.

maximum time on course per heat is 3 minutes. If you are running and do not complete the course within the 3 minutes, you are done and need to proceed to remove your car from the course.

all penalties will be added to your time after your run is over.

For any reason, If you are unable to complete a course, you will receive the maximum time penalty of 4 minutes.

Course times plus penalties will not exceed 4 minutes. 4 minutes is the maximum time you can receive per course, Period.

Example 1:

0.2:32 finish time
+ 0.0:30 for 1 rollover
+ 0.0:20 for 2 gates
= 0.3:22 total time for that course.

Example 2:

0.2:58 finish time
+ 0.0:60 for 2 rollovers
+ 0.0:20 for 2 gates
= 0.4:00 total time for that course (maximum).

all your times for each heat will be carried over until the finals or until you are bumped out by your competition. Lowest overall combined time will win the event.

Any motor is allowed, but big motors wont get you a win here. The courses will consist of whoops sections, technical cracks, vertical climbs and gates.

8:00pm, tech inspection for the "MADNESS AT THE MOONROCKS" begins

Est start of event will be between 9:00 to 9:30 pm.

Rules: all bprca rules apply to the night event: All vehicle lighting and personnel flash lights or head lights must also be teched in.

NO FLASH LIGHTS ARE ALLOWED ON COURSE OR ANYWHERE NEAR THE COURSES!
If you, your wife, sibling, or friend is using a flashlight near a course, you will receive a 50 for your next course! CHEATING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED THIS YEAR!

Any type of lighting is allowed on any teched vehicle.

the only type of lighting allowed on your person is a flashlight or headlight that has a red, blue, or green lens. No yellow!

Est end of event, ??????????????????????????/

It'll be held @ the Moon Rocks. Coming from Cali; I-80 east to Reno, NV. Cont. I-80 east to Sparks, NV; then Left (N) on Pyramid Way. Remain on North on Pyramid Way; make a L @ Winnemuca Ranch road, once it turns to dirt, aprx. 3 miles make a L into the OHV area.

Parking lot is up on your righthand side aprx 1 mile.

Hopefully, this gets you close, I drive by landmarks. So in my terms, Go East to the Nugget, take a left towards IN and Out, stay straight until the cattle gaurd, haul ass to the dirt road, slow down between the fences, hard left, apply lots of skinny peday to smooth out the washes and your there...."thumbsup"

Hey guys, looks like DJ and I are gonna make it to this one. Can't wait.

I haven't signed-up on the Rockgods site yet because when I tried to register on the site I was getting the dreaded "This page cannot be displayed". I'll try to register again tomorrow.

It will be great to see everyone again.
