Anyone seen this yet? I've got a Micro in my G-Shot and would dig it if CC went the route of the quiet ESC like others have for revolvers. Seems like it's "coming soon" according to Tower. CC states 3-4 weeks on their website.

Mamba Micro X2

I have not seen that, but I am very excited about it. There will be one in my Gspeed rig as soon as I can get my hands on one.

Ah sweet. Gonna have to pick one up. Perhaps my current GSpeed that's still awaiting a few parts can utilize this X2. That leaves me with a spare Micro X, hmmm...

I saw this a few days after ordering my Micro X, it would be amazing if it makes Revolvers quiet or quieter, still a few weeks out though, but might have to try one if it quietens the Revolvers for sure.

May pick one up for a g-shot build. Dont much care for the whine of the revolver, but if it does quiet them down, this is the route ill go.

Hopefully they don't drop from the same production line than the copperheads..lol

Exactly my thoughts too, hopefully not. For those not familiar the Copperhead has issues cutting out and Castle has done nothing to fix it beyond telling folks to use a bigger battery which also does nothing to fix the issue.

Fingers crossed

Glad I didn’t get a copperhead for my holmes crawl master brushless motor. I went with an sw 4 instead. I don’t think the micro x2 will eliminate the noise from the out runner motors. Holmes did mention he would have a something out later this year that would be based on the castle, but did use his program to make the motors run silent.

Same here. I almost picked up a Copperhead 10 motor/ESC combo for my TRX4. Didn’t know they had problems cutting out. Guess we’ll wait to see how this ESC preforms.

There are some people experiencing issues with the Copperhead but it’s certainly not all of them. Mine has worked flawlessly as some others have also expressed. I wouldn’t have thought twice about getting another one if not for Castle’s lame ass excuses and “not our problem” attitude towards it. Not a major deal. I can support Hobbywing instead with either a 1080 and a brushed motor or a Fusion in future builds. Actually picked up another 1080 today at the local track for a current build. As far as the new micro 2, I’d be surprised if it does anything to quiet Revolvers. That would be the main improvement and selling point over the other micro (along with 4s capability) and I have yet to see anything suggesting such. Someone will get their hands on one soon though and can confirm that. I recently parted with all of my Revolver motors due to the noise causing my concussion related migraines to get so bad that my eyes would water constantly. Sucks because the performance of those motors is SO awesome in a crawler.

Dam that noise issue sucks king dork. Holmes is working on releasing a v2 of his quiet esc. The crawl master brushless is the same noise as the revolvers I have heard. Holmes has stated in his YouTube videos about the typical castle whine. I have bought and sold more 1080’s than I can count. Still a great esc. I just like the speed of brushless.

Out of interest and to save making a new thread, is their an ESC on the market right now that quietens the Revolver down?
I'm not new to brushless crawlers but I am awaiting delivery of my first Revolver, never experienced the noise first hand so I'm curious if it is something I dislike, is their options already on the market to quieten it?

Out of the box, the only one is the HH crawlmaster mini. There's a thread of using an ESC designed for the FPV crowd that can be used but the mulit page post is confusing for me (maybe I'm too slow to get it!). Currently the HH option is out of stock with JRH mentioning coming out with a V2 in the next couple of months. I have one in a GSpeed V3 and want another to go in the place of a Micro X in my G-Shot. It's amazing how annoying that noise can be!

Maybe my quest for lightness was the wrong way to go with Micro X and 2040 V3 Revolver.
Maybe a Puller Pro stubby 2700 would be better, more than twice as heavy though and very expensive, certainly here in the UK anyway.
Equal to almost $200.
