Anyone on here from Pro-line?

The place I bought the bodyshell have now agreed to a 40% refund, basically to pay for some accessories or something to try and cover some of the issue up.
Still a very poor show from Pro-line though, I can say from now on I will try and source my bodyshells from other manufacturers, but it does get a bit difficult in the UK, we don't have anywhere near as many brands you guys in the USA/Canada have.

Don't know how it works the other side of the channel ... but this side it's with the seller that you have to manage a claim for a defect, then up to him to deal with ProLine or any other intermediate he dealt with. 40% refund is a joke, the product he sold you isn't suitable for its intended purpose, it should be a full refund.

It works the same here, in most instances, but stock levels are low, so getting a replacement won't be easy, they wanted the body returning for a full refund.
After I factor in return postage costs as well, it made more sense to get a bit of money back and just suck it up.
I contacted Pro-line directly as a back up really, plus if it's a known defect, which they have admitted it is (I screenshotted it just in case) they should be dealing with it, like a recall kinda situation.

It having minor blemishes in a couple spots doesn’t in any way shape or form mean that it’s “isn't suitable for its intended purpose”....... I understand that this is an expensive hobby and that we spend a lot of time and effort in building/creating these toy trucks but in the grand scheme of things 40% off of a plastic shell that is going to get banged up and replaced eventually is a fair deal.

I think some folks should step back, take a breath, and calm down a bit. At the end of the day it’s a toy. And before you go all crazy with the “you don’t know.... blah blah blah” comments I do know because I’ve been building and playing with these toy trucks for 30ish years.

You're right and you're wrong.
Yes, it is only a toy, the rest, you're wrong.
Not everyone bangs them up or wants to weather them.
Not everyone replaces shells every couple of weeks.
My brother-in-law has the same shell his truck came with as an RTR because he just goes out and uses it, he's added some accessories and he's happy with it and has been trucking with it for over 3 years, he's got no intention of changing it unless he absolutely has to, my Dads Yeti still has the stock body, that's also going on about 3 years now, because it does what it needs to do... I personally do change bodies often, but that's personal choice.
You have to remember, not everyone who is in the hobby is in it for the same reasons, some just like to plug in a battery and go for a drive.
Regardless of them being toys, you should still get what you paid for.
For example, if you took your real car/truck/bike to be resprayed and the person spraying it ruined a panel and sprayed over it, you'd be happy with that, because eventually it's going to be covered in stone chips and need doing again anyway eventually right?

Nobody should accept a defective item in exchange for full price. You deserve what you pay for. Would Proline accept if you shorted them even $1? Hell no.

Agreed. I bought an IROC-Z body from Delta Plastik that was a little deformed at the front. I emailed them at 9:00 PM and had a tracking number for a replacement by 10:00 PM. There's no reason for Proline to blow off a defect.

Maybe see if there are any people sponsored by Proline by you, perhaps one of them could swap the body out and deal with PL more effectively.

This is a piss poor example of customer service. For shame on PL, can’t believe they didn’t replace the cheap plastic part and just left you to deal with it.

Good luck and hope the gift turns out alright in the end.
