I bought a 1946 power wagon body for my Dads SCX10ii for his birthday, it's got some quite severe grooves on both rear corners from presumably the moulding process.
I've submitted a ticket, but can't attach images, it shows up an error, something about the 'string' not being right?
No idea, figured it was worth a shot uploading here, as a means for them to see it and hopefully take care of it.

They’re AWARE of an issue, yet offer nothing?! That’s pretty pathetic. Looks like JConcepts will be getting my money. That sucks man!

All the ones ibought have been like that. There is a post somewhere on here. Usually it is mostly just the mask layer and when removed and painted you cant see it. But yours looks like the mask is removed and that is the body itself? Thats a rough one for sure, and ive painted a few PW's!

Mines cut out and I noticed that texture on the overspray plastic, haven't unwrapped to check the actual body yet. Guess I better get on it and see if mine's as bad as that. :/

Proline body quality has been spottier lately, but I haven't received anything like this.

They've always gave me good customer service except once. I'd be surprised if they don't get you a new body.

EDIT: I just opened a brand new set of TrXuS tires and it reminded me that Proline's quality, overall has taken a downturn. And they are starting to cheap out. I'm not sure what's up at Proline, but it's not the same Proline it used to be IMO.

Mold release galore on these tires. In the past, all the of the Proline tires I received were shiny and didn't require Simple Green to remove all of the mold release like this set does. Also, Proline doesn't include the Proline logo decal anymore and the bags are no longer zip locks. I used to keep and reuse the Proline bags forever because they were resealable, but now they're just trash.

Yes what you see is the body itself, the protective film is gone.
I don't think paint will even cover it, it would have to be extremely thick, because some of the grooves are deep.
Not happy... At least when I had an issue with an Axial body, they sent me a replacement straight away.
Poor service Pro-line... Especially the amount of money I've spent with them over the years in tyres, bodies and accessories... Not to mention the ProMTs.

Is the rough texture on the inside of the body or the outside? From what I can see, it looks like a roughly sanded mold, which transferred that texture to the inside of hte lexan. The Camaro body I have from Delta Plastiks is like that too. But, since you're painting the inside of the body, as long as the outside of the lexan is smooth, those marks should be totally (or at least mostly) invisible once it's painted. At least there's not a big crease right across the window like on my Wrangler Unlimited bodies... I have 3 of them and they all have the same crease.

It's not rough, it's completely distorted, it's not outside or inside, it's both.

Checked mine last night and it appears to be just the overspray film on the outside.

That's lucky for you, I'm not sure what makes it better or worse for some, but my other one is pretty much fine, this one however is beyond acceptable.

That is frustrating. I wonder if they think yours is just the spray film too? Maybe they were replacing some that ended up just being the film, and guys found out and were getting "free" bodies. I dont know. I would express your frustrations again maybe with a phone call and tell them yours is not just the film it is really a defect body.

I'm not sure how all those ridges in the plastic would be the spray film only. The spray film would have to be lifting off of the plastic and wrinkled to have those ridges.

Reach back out to them and let them know it's the body itself that has the imperfections and it needs replacing. If they don't respond, politely ask to have them escalate the claim to their manager.

They already know it's the body, I explained the protective film had been removed.
They've told me they know it's an issue with the production of the bodies, due to the cab and bed being separate.
I'm not sure what difference that makes though.
Annoyingly, after I refused a £4 partial refund from the shop I bought it from, they've now stopped replying too.
I'm not at all happy.

Pro-line got back to me and said theirs basically nothing they can do and closed the ticket :lmao:
All I can say to that is very poor effort from Pro-line and they can go... :flipoff:

The film is all messed up on those quarter panels on all of them. Some have just had light scuffs and some actually enough create a really rough prickly texture. But the body has always been fine. Been a bit since ive bought one, maybe they have gotten worse. It is weird, especially that they cant fix it or care to though. Pretty bogus

Sorry to hear man, especially as a gift. My junk I dont care about, but anytime its for anyone else, its got to be right.

That's very odd from Proline. I'd contact them again until you get results. Try calling this time.

Interesting. My first was fine for sure and didn't have this. I'll have to check my second one.

Can't call as I am in the UK, they are in the USA.
One of the issues with purchasing products where the manufacturer is in a different country.
I don't even know who the main UK distributor is for Pro-line, otherwise I'd try reaching out to them.
If it was my own body, I'd have probably complained, then just painted it and forgotten about it, but as it's a gift, it's particularly annoying.

Yes, I'd email again, unacceptable. Also why I try to use Paypal if it might be a questionable vendor and/or product. They usually help you a bit better than a credit card company.

Then social media is your best weapon. Contact them there and hope you get a different person. You should be able to ask that your claim be escalated to management.

I just checked my second PW. The film does have those marks, but not the body.
