Any basic all terrain/road tires available?

Im looking for some very standard looking basic car/truck tires to use on my '85 suburban build. I want it to look pretty much like they did from the factory with what are basically road tires. Is there anything out there that would look right on a 1.55 wheel? The only thing I've found so far that might work are the RC4WD dirt grabbers.

Something like this:

Maybe you can play around with some Tamiya semi tires to get something like what you're looking for.

I have a small hoard of RC4WD Desert King 1.55's I'm saving for some "boring" build. These are discontinued though and the time I tried them they really were miserable (perfect for a "factory" truck you want realistic performance out of).

Semi tires are mostly 1.7 though, right?
Those desert kings are pretty tall, as well. I really need something pretty stock looking, but it was a great suggestion, the tread looks pretty "normal".

The MST CMX tires look good.

I would suggest the awesome new Boom Racing 1.55 wheels.

Those tires arent bad, a little aggressive looking, though.
Thanks for the tip on the wheels, those look great!

1.7 are typically semi, but RC4WD makes some nice wheels and tires in 1.7. Check their site.

Here is a link to RC4WD's 1.55 tires. I don't know of any other brand that makes small, scale-looking street or all-terrain tires. Pitbull makes 1.55 tires, but they are massive and aggressive.

Some dirt grabbers would be the ticket I'd say, although they are crazy-small and that body sits right up there... Might look a little off. I'm loving the look of the Fun Countries on the GCM Blazer build. They're just big enough to look proportional without overdoing it, and they're a pretty good scale tire to boot. May be too aggressive for what you're wanting to do though.

They definitely are small haha, I'll do some mockups and see how it will look.

Maybe these might work...I have a set for a another future build...go figure.they are kind of firm though....the old bias ply look..

Roady 1.7" Commercial 1/14 Semi Truck Tires

Hey those are actually pretty close to what i was thinking. Stiff is OK as this will be a purposely heavy build for a little more realism in movement. I suppose I could go with 1.7 wheels, but I could also cut them to fit 1.55. Thanks for the suggestion!

ya i thought i throw that in there even though you were looking for 1.55...
I have a set stretch on 1.9 Axial wheels if you need pics...I think also 1.55 to 1.7 mm in size difference is not much and from far away won't even tell there 1.7..

Is there a reason you're stuck on using a 1.55? I'm assuming it's because you want 15" wheels on a 1:10 body. Check the body you plan to use and be sure it's 1:10....my experience has been that most are not, and you may find a 1.7 is actually more scale than the 1.55.

Just a thought.

I'm scratch building a 1/9 burban, so either 1.55 or 1.7 should work. I'll check out the 1.7s some more to see what I think. I know the suburbans in the 80s has 15s, but you really won't be able to tell the difference.

If you have the skill to make some cut and shut tires, throw the tread from some HPI vintage touring car tires onto the carcass of a 1.55 tire with the appropriate sized sidewall.

If you tell your self it is a 3/4 ton Suburban the OEM rim would have likely been a 16", and 16.5" was another rim size on heavier trucks, 15" was common to a 1/2 ton setup.

These arent exactly what Im looking for, but they have more of an HD truck look to them as opposed to a big crawler look. Decent price too. They are roughly 3.35" in diameter which seems like a pretty good 1/10 scale size. Apparently they are stiff compound with no foams, though. OK if your rig is super heavy, but if its not you probably wont have much grip.
