Another "very scale looking" cherokee, in a scale city. (Picture heavy)

Hello, I just finished my first scale rig. A Cherokee to match my 1:1 rig. Im also a modeler and have a 1:10 scale city model that is "zombie apocalypse" themed. The SCX10 and model go together nicely and i decided to post some pics, since i live in the middle of nowhere and have no one else to show it to.

Check out the roof liner and dome lights i added, its a really nice effect and didn't cost much to do. I still have more to do as far as lighting. The goal is:

Lights and dome lights- Channel 3
Directional lights left/right-channel 4
working horn/ windshield wipers-channel 5

then i may start thinking out smoke machines and engine sounds...

You need to do some stop motion animation now!

The Jeep looks great too, nice interior details.
You could use a HiLift Jack to help hide the body pins on your hood.

And, the thought of stop motion animation made me smile.. Im going to go research it now haha... it shouldnt be too hard right? just get a good tripod and some patients i assume.

Awesome! Thanks man. I was thinking... with that on the front and a rack of some sort on the back, they body posts would be almost completely hidden. Have you or anyone here ever used the "clip free" or "stealth" mounting system? I wish i would have researched or even heard about it before drilling..

By the way, Sweet rig! I love that shot and the buggy crawler. Those green things in the pic that came with the kit... what are they? i have been trying to figure that out since i got my honcho... im still perplexed...

Thin firing strip and velcro on the body does away with body clips. All my rigs are velcro to keep bodies on. Love the mini city! Would like to see more of that.

Thanks everyone. I've gotten more appreciation here than I've ever got in person. I've never seen another model or hobby grade rc within 200 miles from here. Everyone on here has such nice stuff and a wealth of knowledge.

Gate markers... never thought of that haha.. I'm a bit embarrassed for not knowing that. Ill have to put them to use now.

Just as a side note. On my truck, Ive used several ideas and techniques from spidernad's truck/post. He has a nice looking Cherokee build aswell.

I think I can safely say the we all pretty much want to see more of the city. Lots more!

This is a type of modeling after all, just moving models. So your static models are right up our alley.

Also, there's a thread around here called "Wow, that's an RC" or something similar. You may want to check it just to see what other people have done with their RCs.

Soulo747- Yeah, the walking dead basically inspired this, the books anyway (though i love the show). I was always a zombie fanatic, but about half way through the comics i decided how i was going to spend the next few months of my free time. It turned into a lifelong process however.

Firewire- That was my reasoning for posting the model. I wasn't sure that it belonged here, but i decided the scx10 would justify it. I haven't heard of the thread, so thanks for the info! I'm definitely going to find that.

hypn0t1q79- Good to hear that there is RC life in a closer proximity than i thought! Do you know of any good tracks in NH or surrounding states? I usually take my slash to the deerfeild track, but any other suggestions would be very appreciated.

Bigski- Thanks for noticing the tree, its one of my favorite pieces. I didnt make it, its actually from a model railroad manufacturer. Its supposed to be scaled much smaller (large tree), but it makes a nice 1:10 pine.

Also, I am doing a big photo shoot in the next couple of days, and ill be posting more pics of the model. So stay tuned if your interested!

The model is only about six feet long, so I really rely on the tiny details and actual figures. I change the "scenario" about once a month... but how many other themes besides "survivor fighting hoards of zombies" are there? I have 8 survivors and about 20 zombies.. so its mix and match.
