so ive been looking for good quality aluminum parts for my wraith and i want good quality but dont want to be paying for a brand name like vanqush. Are there any good quality alternatives?

the vanquish stage 1 kits are really nice and they happen to be cheaper than the axila upgrades. Just a thought.

I've always used Vanquish but since they're out of stock everywhere right now I decided to try some STRC C-Hubs and Knuckles to see how they work. I was pretty surprised how well they fit for the price. Bearings slide right in perfectly, no blemishes in the finish, and no binding when the knuckles turn. I'll definitely buy them again.

yeah ive been thinking about the vanquish knuckles and c-hubs... the strc parts dont look half bad i think im gonna try them out

I'd go HR for the parts just for the simple fact that they have bolt on high steer like VP. I don't see a reason to use a copy of the stock part when you gain nothing but strength, no design improvements.

the HR link sets seem a little cheaper too and dont use plastic connectors. i think ill order these.

All link and steering sets that don't have replaceable ends are junk. I don't buy those parts prefabbed anyway. I either use traxxas revo pushrods or make my own from all thread and brake line.

STRC and Hot Racing are the upper echelon of cheaper brands.

Vanquish Axial Wraith Stage 1 Kit Silver they have this and 3 other colors in stock for $99 plus shipping

All good info! "thumbsup"

Do NOT use HR links. They have cheap-ass press fittings that are not secure and once they pop out you can never seat them tight enough again.
Again,... and emphatic NO on HR links, or any that are not the standard rod ends. Any press fitting ends will fail and quickly at that.

I would only go with HR products if they have no moving joints connections or are simple bolt on cosmetic options. Anything that is near a moving part or that is stressed with fail.

HR link Fail thread.

Tell that to my HR SCX10 tranny gears that get abused like a redheaded stepchild. I know their rod ends and universals are less than stellar, but a poor experience with those doesnt warrant a blanket statement that all their products are garbage.

I do agree the STRC Wraith Knuckles arent a good option as they donthave the bolt on ackerman arm. For knuckles VP or HR are the way to go.

+1 I use HR tranny gears also. So does super shafty. You know the bombproof guy? :ror:

I have one of there trannys in my scx and one in the wraith and they r super strong.

A place to check out for cheap but good alloy pieces is asiatees.com. They have all sorts of parts for tons of trail rigs, including the Wraith. They were recommended by a friend when I started my CR-01 build. The GPM Racing C hubs I got from them had perfect fit and a beautiful finish. Obviously I can't vouch for every single part they sell, but I was VERY happy for what I got for the money.

im gonna wait for the vp steering rods to get re-stocked and go with strc lockouts for now .
for some reason the vp knuckles and c-hubs really appeal to me.

Apologies. My reference to HR links was toward,..well,...HR Links. I was responding on that aspect related to the joint locations on HR links which are PEM or Keenserts which fails when you twist on them repeatedly. A gear is not a joint pinch point so my reference has nothing to do with that aspect of other HR products. I have an HR trans housing in my Wraith and it works fine,...again,...no twist points or PEM inserts to fault on the product. So, yes, my response is valid and can blanket cover all HR link product or products that have joint locations with PEM inserts.

I hope that clarifies my response as related to HR Links and HR Links product lines. "thumbsup"
