"Adopt a newbie" what a great thread! So I have an Exceed maxstone 16 slightly modded. I am running 1.9 x lock tires with gray foams and losi MRC wheels with the beadlock mod. 3 oz front and no weight in the rear. My tires seem full and I feel like I should trim my foams. The beadlock mod increased the diameter of the wheels so should I trim the inside diameter of the foams or the outside? Star pattern on the outsides? I have researched and there is lots of opinions in foams but nothing that seems to cover my particular situation. If someone could shed some light on this for me I would greatly appreciate it. Most folks trim a star pattern around the outside of the foams to soften up the tread of the tire. This will allow the tread to conform to the rocks better. Think lots of little v's around the outside. Start small, then test and go bigger until you get as soft as you want. You can always cut more, you can't add it back. Also, look at the foams Crawler innovations carries.

Thank you. Is it true that tires and foams take a little time to break in? I have about an hour on this setup so far. The tires are so much better than the O.E. Tire that I am not sure how much more to expect from the new ones? My only reference would be pictures and videos on the net and my neighbors slick rock. I still feel as though I should cut out the inside but I think I will order some new foams. I will check out your vendor. I heard good things about NOVA's also?? Maybe I can learn something trimming these for the next time. I enjoy it just as much taken apart as I do when I'm crawling in the rock pile in my shop. Thank you for your knowledge. This site has saved me so much money and trial and error. I feel like I owe 20$ just for the month I have used it. I'll be getting my star on payday. Awesome site!

Crawler innovation and nova foams are one and the same. The tires will break in somewhat also. The sooner the edges are worn off the tread the better the tires will grip.

Im looking to get an rtr scaler (to be familiarized how scalers work)
Something I can upgrade when it breaks down
So which rtr scaler should I get
Some says the best are scx10 with ae5 esc since its waterproofed?
Scaler (with lots of upgrade parts )that can articulate (not the the extreme )is what im looking for

Welcome to RCC. I would get whatever Axial RTR you like and start playing with it. If you enjoy it enough to want it to do better then all have upgrades. See if you can find friends to meet with for trail rides. "thumbsup"

Yes longer is better. Get the one you like and go play. You don't need the most competive for playing.

I'm very new to this area. I bought an Axial SCX10 Dodge ram RTR.

It says the ESC is waterproofed and Servo is Water Resistant. So my question is what more I should do if I'm to drive this in water apart from sealing the power cables?
I'm not thinking of fully submerging. but some running on water.

Thanks. Will do that this week end. it says servo is water resistant instead of water proof and ESC is said a swaterproof. is there any limitation on that?

A dig turns your rig into 2wd via remote; it can also lock 2 wheels for greater maneuverability.

I just got an Axial Wraith Poison Spyder and now have a lowering kit, aluminum links (upper and lower) aluminum steering, and aluminum diff covers, battery relocation in the front, a Power HD-1235MG servo w/ 555 oz/in of torque on 7.4v. I am considering buying a castle CC BEC, should i buy one? What is the difference in having one and not having one?

The difference is your servo will move and your esc won't show the magic smoke. That servo will draw too many amps from the esc's built-in bec, so you need an external bec.
