AARRGGGHHHH Paypal/Ebay RANT I WIN!

I loved the "perhaps it was sitting on a great big mat with big lettering..." Really? see those often do you? I would totally buy that giant mat that makes a hi-lift look like a toy... it would probably re-carpet my whole living room.

Just forward her reply to paypal and be done with it. If she gives you negative feedback, Ebay will not take it off. I had a similar problem selling a textbook a year ago. It was listed as an international version, meaning the pages were in black and white and the book was a soft cover. It was stated International Version in the title of the auction even. Anyhow, some foreign book reseller bought it and had me ship it to some funky address. The guy who got it (who bought the title off the resellers site) realized they "sent" him the international version but charged him for the us version, which was about $40 more. So he complained to them and they filed a complaint with paypal and ebay saying first I shipped them the wrong book, THEN said they didn't receive it at all, to which confused the shit out of everyone. How would you know if it was the right book if it never got there. Anyhow, I called paypal immediately and resolved it, giving them the delivery confirmation number demanding that they look at the auction themselves and tell me what they see. They resolved it on the spot and ruled in my favor, the money was back in my account before we got off the phone. I called ebay to get the feedback taken off and they said there was nothing they could do. Pussies

I think it rather strange that at the exact moment I started bidding someone else started "jacking" up the price. They must not have known what was going on either as they thought they were bidding on the real "jack". I have purchased quite a few things on ebay lately ....

I find it amazing that after a decade, people STILL don't understand just what the hell proxy bidding is.
What a dumbass.
Oh and send her emails to Paypal as well.

If her claim to Paypal was "Item received not as described", then you'll 100% lose, regardless of what you do. You'll get the jack back and she will get her money. If you're a dick to her through e-mail, you'll also get negative feedback. Usually she has to provide Paypal with a delivery confirmation number that the item was sent back before the money is refunded to her account though.

Regardless of what category something is listed in (right or wrong), just make sure in future auctions that people know exactly what they're buying. While it's very clear to 99% of people out there, you found the 1% that it wasn't. You can't fix that 1%, but you can make your auction so stupidly clear that you're covered if something like this ever happens again.

i think it should read
"item recieved ,not what i thought it was.":?
oops!

"if you've recieved an item, and it wasnt what you thought
because you where in too much of a hurry to stop and read
the whole listing,please check here."

I had a problem like this before. And had a claim against me because someone person didn't know how to read,I scanned the delivery conformation No. emailed it to paypal and they sided with me. basically said i could have sent a box of rocks. all that mattered was that i had that delivery conformation and the package got there. Maybe i just got lucky with who handled the claim.

I would consider putting a quarter in the pictures from now on for size reference, but then you'll have to put a note in the description that the "giant quarter is not included" Some people's stupidity amazes me.

I had the exact same thought. You know it'd happen.

She could always use that jack to pry her head out of her ass. "thumbsup"

I say bad on your part for not describing it better and bad on her part for instantly contacting paypal and taking her money back without contacting you first.

If I were selling that item, I would have atleast put how long it is in the description and maybe what scale it might be. Unfortunately these days, we have to cater to the idiots of the world.

If that happened to me and the buyer atleast contacted me first and admitted the misunderstanding I would probably go ahead and give a refund to protect my feedback score. Just my .02

How the hell else could he have described it? Look at the pictures, look at the title, look at the category it's listed in, look at the description....seriously? Oh wait, I guess he could have put in the measurements but some dumb shit would probably misread that...."Oh, I thought it said 3 FEET, not INCHES, ooooops." The point is, no matter how well you try to describe something, some people just will not get it.

Call paypal as soon as you can and give them the auction number and tell them you want to resolve this immediately....don't wait for them to come up with something, don't keep exchanging emails, call them and do everything you possibly can over the phone. Tell them you have several emails from the lady that admits she was wrong and that if they can't find them you will send them to whoever you need to.

When I saw you'd sold that for $55, my first thought was "wonder if he thinks it's a real Hi-Lift"

Hah funny chit, i saw it as well. That thought crossed my mind as well, but i didn't think anyone could be that stupid. I am wrong! Hahaha

Hey mike, thanks for the 5 minutes of entertainment 8)

Next time take a picture of it next to your penis, that may really confuse her as to how big it may be.:lmao:

Number 1.
I nominate this thread for Chit Chat Classics, I fell out of my seat laughing at this woman. You can buy a real Hi-Lift at Harbor Freight for around 60-70 bucks.
Number 2.
I think Mike needs to be banned for one month on EBay for scamming this poor old chick.

Thanks for the chuckle dude, oh man I have tears...
