A warning about Hobbypartz, NitroCRX and Nitroplanes. Paypal Dispute = Ban Customer

I recently placed a $199.61 order from Hobbypartz to get some parts for crawlers I am building. I consider them a local hobbyking and their location is rather convenient. A week later I have 2 charges on paypal for $199.95, no order email, and no tracking info.

I sent an email copying support and sales asking what was going on with my order. 9 Days later I called and finally got through to a representative. I was told that my account had been banned due to a paypal dispute in January.

Anyone who has deal with these companies has dealt with their service, or lack there-of. I have never had much issue and have always gotten my orders on time. I have placed over $1,500 worth of merchandise over the past few years from this company.

On 12/20/2011 I ordered 6 Dynam 12amp ESCs and when they arrived they were larger than the proton 30a escs I had order.

These were for a mini quad so naturally they would not do...

I attempted to get an RMA from Hobbypartz via email and phone calls but was unable so I filed a paypal dispute to get them to reply. They responded, sent an RMA and I sent back the ESCs. Business as usual right?

Since then I've placed the following orders:

order yhst-62196343123315-233636 $86.02
order yhst-62196343123315-245183 $113.54
order yhst-62196343123315-263254 $391.28
order yhst-62196343123315-263868 $165.14
order yhst-62196343123315-264839 $103.20

I spent a total of $859.18 and if they would have acceped my most recent order that would have been $1058.79 since being banned...

I'd consider myself a loyal customer until I was just "banned" from using their site from a transaction 7 months ago and notified on the phone today.

Unbelievable. The salesperson on the phone was not able to give me a valid reason why I had been banned except that because I had filed a paypal dispute I could no longer buy there.

Keep this in mind when using Hobbypartz, NitroCRX, and Nitroplanes. Not only is their customer service horrible but they feel the need to "ban" perfectly good customers who spend good amounts of money at their store. Pass the word.

Thank god Hobbyking is expanding their USA warehouse and putting these guys out of business. Cut out the middleman anyway...

I'm confused, you said hobbyking then hobbypartz... Which is it??

I've gone through hobbypartz.com a lot for all my lipos and never had a issue.

Now hobbyking.com, them on the other hand I have had issues with. Waited 3 months for 2 lipos and they wouldn't refund my money after me waiting the first month. They said it was in the usa warehouse.

I said I consider hobbyparts.com a "local Hobbyking"...

Hobbyking you have to wait forever and their RMA process is a nightmare.

Never had problems with either.. Im guessing it because of a contract they have with paypal.. And whatever dispute you had with paypal is causing conflict of interest etc.. Y not just use your credit card? At least you can put a stop pay on it and recover etc..

They banned me for a paypal dispute. Doing a credit card dispute they'd probably try and have me deported

Your location says LA. That means I bet you can drive to at least 50 great local hobby stores and buy castle, or tekin products that you can hold, and look at. You could choose Novak, but that would put you in the same boat with shit customer service, and poor products. Anyway. Or you can buy lower end brands and risk getting poor service. It is smart on their part to ban customers that file pay pal claims. Paypal almost always sides with the buyer. And I bet there are hundreds of shitbags that file claims every day to try and squeeze them for free shit. Like getting caught talking to a hooker. Maybe you were not going to bang her, but in hobbypartz eyes, you sure looked guilty.

I build multirotors mostly. Can't get most of the stuff locally.

Regardless they lost a customer whos had one RMA out of 20+ orders and $2000 or so worth of orders....

Thats a way to go bankrupt.

... Paypal almost always sides with the buyer.
Almost? Try always and you're at the truth!
One very good Swedish etailer went into bancrupcy. First he did the mistake of hiring some lazy bastards to cover for him during a couple of weeks vacation, which cost him lost sales and bad rep.
Then one guy ordered some 30k SEK (~$4,500) worth of stuff, payed with PayPal but stopped the payment after delivery claiming he never got it...
Merchants have no security at all with PayPal, they just get a reduced transaction fee.

Not true, I have won BS pp claims with a buyer.

No evidence=no money back with paypal

Never had an issue with hobbypartz myself. Orders always shipped quickly with excellent communication.

I made however many orders since that dispute. Its clear that ownership and policy has changed.

Idiots lost a good costomer

These are orders I have place from hobbypartz and its sister companies over the years....

In the situation they banned me for. I tried to reach them after multiple emails. You cannot file a paypal claim until x amount of weeks/days. Thats how long it had been. I sent back the ESCs the day I filed the dispute.

I tried to do a paypal dispute so I could get a total of how much money these guys have gotten from me over the years. The search doesn't seem to go back more than 3 months.

To anyone whom has ever had an issue with hobbypartz, please call paypal. They are monitoring the company for fraud. Their actions are against paypals seller's terms of agreement and the more people that call with issues, the quicker they lose their paypal abilities.

Paypal is aware of the situation and is monitoring their actions from here on out as a flagged account. They told me that they have an excessive amount of claims, but I am the first person to actually call from being "banned" per the owner of the site.

I was told by a representative of the site:

"The ban on your account was made by one of the owner of the company. I can have the ban lifted but you will need to contact Paypal to cancel the claim that was filed in order *******. "

That order was disputed, sent back to them, resolved by paypal, they got their goods back, and closed. I have the emails to prove it and paypal verified it.

whatever... I'm done with it. Paypals aware of it. Its in their hands now.

Call them if you've had issues with them pulling nonsense in the past. Go to Paypal: Contact Us: Call us and they will provide you a One-Time Passcode to directly talk to a representative.

Did you ever find out how the second $199 charge ended up on your account?

For the past 2 orders it has happened. An error with google chrome and their popup cart or something. I placed one order, and got 2. The last time I placed an order, same thing happened. They corrected it that time.

They've known about the issue for a while.

On your PP order summary, did it show the double order? I think that there've been some issues with PP when using Chrome but as far as I know, the duplicate order will show up on the order summary as well as your purchase history.

Yes it did. They've had issues with double orders for months and haven't done anything to fix it. :lmao:
