A Killer conversion for the Losi Micro Crawler & more

how does the wheelbase of this compare to say, a Mini-T/RC18T body? I'm of the opinion that the Parma panel wagon/grave-digger thing would look exceptionally good being underpinned by micro rock crawler axles, or hell any scale-ish 1:18 lid. invasion of solid axle narrow eyes bajas, anyone?

The wheel base is 4" and is slightly adjustable, but I am sure I could offer a longer wheel base setup in the future if there is enough interest. The RC18T looks to be around 6".

Thanks

It'll be interesting to see how those leaf springs hold up under use; especially with people who are going to run metal bodies on them. It also looks to really be limiting the flex, do you have any flex shots (natural, not force flex?)

It is such a small truck they hold up great, and the flex is not a huge amount do to the small scale size but enough to have a dang fun little trail rig. And it should actually do really well with the metal bodies.

I too was thinking that it should do well with the metal bodies, might even smooth out the ride a bit. Are there any plans to try and engineer a stock type chassis with links 'n coils? Definitely a good looking chassis; excellent work; can't wait to see some scale builds on this chassis!

Useing 4 of the stock 1.6mm screws the tranny is mounted to side rails

Her is the tranny mounted to the chassis

Next put the wheels and tires back on the axles

With the tires and wheels mounted up

I will have more pics tomorrow.

Next we will install the servo and receiver tray from the stock Losi Micro crawler, you will
have to shave off the brace on the under side of the receiver tray
with a dremel so that it out of the way.
SMC 15 KIT.jpg

Mount the servo tray with two of the stock 1.6mm screws from your micro kit
and put 1 of the 5mm m2 philp screws on each side of the chassis to keep the
Receiver tray form rotating down
SMC 16 KIT.jpg

Next take 4 of the M2 8mm Socket bolts provided with the kit and the 2 flat spacers
and they will be used to mount the servo (the spacers shown in this build are the prototype spacers
actual spacers will be different)
SMC 17 KIT.jpg

Here you can see the servo mount holes they need to be drilled larger with a #52 bit
so that the M2 8mm socket bolts will thread into the holes

Install bolts as shown

Next install the other Brace from the stock micro crawler kit using
2 of the stock 1.6mm screws

Bravo!! Big props Blade. The whole package looks very nicely executed, and the price point is definitely reasonable. I'm subscribed, hopefully you'll get some video up of this little beast.

Where was this a few months back when I built my micro? I just might have to get another one going now. A micro Toyota build would be sweet with this chassis.

The trailer is really nice looking as well...
