Everything is faster with a big ole wanggg on back. With more HPs and the aero, I hope this crushes the ZL1 1LE around the track. Will be very interesting to see if they have some times already.

The gaps in the fender wells look too big, especially in the rear. And I would love to see a more exotic interior. Glad to see they stuck with push rods tho.

edit; video shows a different wing and some goofy exhaust tips.

it has to crush the 1LE
~400 less lbs
100 more HP
bigger rear tires at least.
less frontal area

goofy exhaust tips are because the stock exhaust is too loud for track decibel limits. they divert sound away from the on track mic's

and two wings are going to be available. the big track wing. and a little mild spoiler/wing for folks that want the ZR1 for the street etc.

Those wheels are awful.... Other than that it looks pretty good. That orange doesn't do anything for me either but I assume it comes in more options. White please...

i agree. the wheels are one thing i dont like. but those can be easily changed luckily. that split "V" shaped hood is pretty cool, even though im not a fan of motor covers, thats a cool new take on it.

That is a sick car. It wasn't until the last few years that I viewed corvettes as anything but parts donors to something cool. They've really stepped up their game now for damned sure!

I'd still rather pull the drivetrain & suspension out and stick it in something dumb like a 62 chevy truck. Heavier, no aero and stupid but I'll be damned if it wouldn't be the most fun truck ever...

Big fender gaps means smart people will run bigger tires. Not wheels, tires.

and C5 and newer vettes come with adjustable height suspension from the factory. a quick turn with a wrench on the lowering bolts(rest on mono leaf) and you can set the ride height and fender gaps at whatever you want. a pretty simple setup.

I thought we were getting mid-engine Vettes next year? Are they going to sell two models - front and mid engine?

I'm really not a fan of the looks of current gen Corvettes and Camaros. Too angular looking. But I love the performance. Pure awesomeness! It's funny that I do like the look of the wheels.

My uncle had a 2012 ZR1. I loved that thing. I'm still a big fan of the C6 look.

its official, revealed in Dubai today"thumbsup"

755 hp
715 ft lb

well, that is one butt ugly car! I have never liked corvettes...pita to work on and very difficult for a fella my size to get in and out of.. I am 6'3" tall and 310 lbs... lol

I hear that. I'm 6'1" and pushing 330 on a light day. Getting in is usually OK. It's the getting out that sucks. I have a MINI Cooper track car that's a real pain to get in and out of. I got in a Lotus Elise once. Took me a few days to get back out...

Jay Leno was on a show I listen to a few days ago and he mentioned that he was allowed to drive the new car. He said an engineer rode with him and they did 50 miles of laps around a Detroit test track at just over 200 mph.

Not sure I believe 50 miles at 200+ mph is possible on those tires but he did say the car was rock solid at that speed.

What show? I'm always looking for good podcasts...

I like most of it. I'm not clear as to why the headlights on modern cars have to be designed by someone who's previous occupation was attending raves though. Jesus, just make headlights look like headlights and not so damn busy looking. The honecomb mesh up front looks cheap, and the front quarter panel exhaust vents look cheap as well. Those actually look like something you'd see sticky taped onto a Honda Civic around here. They'd look much better body colored IMHO. Then again, none of this will ever be an issue for me, so I guess it doesn't matter what I think. I like White Trash's idea, but in a '68 C10.

.pita to work on

i will give you that. found out hard way. every project no matter how big or small is way more difficult.
case in point recently put ARP wheel studs in. on the camaro you just bang them out a hole in the back and install new. with the vette you have to remove the entire hub and spindle assembly to gain access to back to get studs out/in:roll:
