2016 RC4WD Scale Challenge Series - Disney, OK (June 4th-5th)

OK...guys...

Ticket Sales have stopped hit a wall...let's sell this one out

Class 1 = 6 tickets
Class 2 = 19 tickets
Class 3 = 7 tickets
KoD = 5 tickets

Let's get this one moving. It's going to be hard to get sponsors to step up...

I really thought this would have been sold out way before now. I'm thinkin Scaller44 needs to get another crawler and enter more than one class.

Either way, let's get on the ball people! This event was awesome last year. Not to mention that Disney is like crawler heaven.

Those of you that were there last year... spread the word! Call your friends, call your friends friends, then call there mom's. This comp. is gonna rock!

I have my class 2, class 3, and KOD. Cabin is reserved, and I can not wait for this great excuse to go to Disney.

I shared this event on a local Kc Facebook page in hopes to bring in more entries. The KCRC is a pretty big group, and hopefully a few more of the local guy's decide to attend. I'll continue to badger a few of them till they weaken "thumbsup"

I told my whole local group of people that crawl some of them are getting tickets now

I went last year, and bought a ticket this year. With that said, it did have its flaws.
It's pricey. Maybe offer a shirt free if you do multiple classes?
It wasn't very organized Saturday morning (for $35 a ticket, a sign at the main road would have been helpful.)
I know of a handful that knew nothing of the big giveaway and/or never got a raffle ticket!

If you didn't show up on Friday, you were literally in the dark.

I'm ready for the ass chewing. Sorry if this wasn't the time or the place.

I won't be there until Saturday will I still get a raffle ticket and will I miss out on a lot?

They all found out Lucky and I are going...They is all scared :flipoff:

:ror: Yea we are some strong competition for sure. :flipoff: LOL
No kidding, as much fun as this event is I can't believe it hasn't sold out with folks begging to reopen ticket sales. This b is an awesome place to crawl. With great challenges and great people.

Amen! This place is unbelievable to say the least. Most fun I've ever had playing with my tiny trucks was at Disney. Lucky and I have our time scheduled off from work and a camper on reserve, so even if something were to happen and this event were to get canceled, I bet we'll still be there "thumbsup"

I've been in and out of R/C, ATV racing some drag racing through the years. At every event there are unhappy people, uninformed people and cry babies. Nothing with a large group of people ever seems to go off without a hitch. There's always something that isn't to everyone's liking, but most of the time 90% of the people are having a blast, enjoying their passion and making new friends. It should never be about the trophy or the loot you can walk out with, it's the love of the hobby and meeting like minded people that drives the majority of us. Ticket prices are what they are. I don't know of many if any somewhat organized events that are free to put on for the public. It cost money and takes time to do things like this. In most cases it doesn't benefit the one(s) holding the event. It's done for us, the ones who want to get together, make new friends, show off our toys and skills. In my opinion, anyone that's not happy with the way an event of any type is put together or the cost to attend, they can organize and hold their own event and show everyone the proper way to do it.

I was just trying to shed some light on why ticket sales might have been slow.

It was my first tiny truck comp last year rc4wd event. I suppose I was a little unhappy. Maybe, disappointed is a better way to describe it.

Uninformed.... This isn't the law, where ignorance isnt a defense. It's a paid event. Share as much information as often as possible.

Crybaby I definitely am. I'm sucking my thumb while typing this.

I never asked for a free competition. Have you been to crawlapalooza? That's a true "For the people" event. IMO

I don't expect a bunch of "free" stuff. Free in quotes cause of event fees. It just would have been nice to know it was happening. (Back to sharing information)

Why can't feedback be a good thing? I suppose everyone's perfect and have no need to become better.

I understand where you're coming from when it comes to sharing information. I'm one of the guy's that's usually tugging on someone's shirt tail asking what's going on. As events get older they seem to get better and better. It can take a few years to perfect the machine and get it running smoothly. Crawlapalooza will be in it's 10th year this October. Jerry and the KCRC members that put it on have been doing this for quite a while and they know from past experience exactly how to run a great crawl. I wasn't actually pointing a finer at you when I said cry babies. Maybe my wording could have been chosen a little better, but there's always someone crying about something regardless of how well planned out something is. I really don't know how anyone could have not known about the give a way's last year. I didn't attend, just watched the forum and I knew just about everything that was happening or was planned to happen. I honestly think maybe a PM sent to John might have been a better rout other than posting it up here. Negativity of any nature, no matter how well it's spoken can turn some people away, and that's not good for the event or the other patrons. I, myself would like to see this go off with a bang. I love this hobby and the people that make it what it is. Maybe when something is not going as one would like, he could step up and offer to lend a hand? Help is normally very welcome at such events.

If this was the John scale challenge. I wouldn't be nearly as critical and would pm John directly. But when a major sponsor puts there name on it, its no longer above reticule and should be talked about in a public way.

I too read the forum, and possibly I missed it. I shouldn't have to search a 12 page forum for that. ALL pertinent info should be on the first page.

So you're saying unles it's sunshine and rainbows, we shouldn't talk about it openly? This scares me a little.

You still manage to make it sound like I did something wrong.
Paying to play, spreading the word isn't good enough anymore? I gotta help run it too? What's the entry fee for again?

I'm thinking we can completely highjack this thread with our head butting and never get anywhere. We both have our opinions and are not going to completely agree on everything. We look at things in a different light and go about things differently, and I'm not saying either of us is right or wrong. With that said, I'm bowing out of this argument before I end up making an ass out of myself on public media. Hopefully it's not to late.
