2015 RC Crawling Worlds- Las Vegas Sept 11, 12, 13th

After meeting with the BLM, The Logandale location lept to the forefront of the running for the comp spots available to us. Logistic being the number one concern. Logandale offer an almost endless amount of red sandstone and other types of rock/terrain as well. While it is abit outside of Las Vegas proper, it is still an easy drive. I'll post some pictures here in the thread shortly. 8)

There is a fairly local 48 room hotel, and the East Side Cannery on the north side of Vegas is conveniently located as well. More details and room block information will be announced soon.

Is it September yet??

Great info Art.

Can't wait for the pictures."thumbsup"

-Logandale Trails
the furthest away of any of our crawl spots, logandale trails will take you about an hour or so to get to. this place is more well known for full scale rock crawling and ATV riding. the red sandstone is never ending here, as it is the same mountain range as Valley of Fire. there are also sand dunes for the go fast RCs. take I-15 north out of town to exit 93, moapa valley blvd. take moapa valley blvd to Liston, turn right (at the chinese restaurant) at the end of liston get on the dirt road, cross the train tracks and follow that road all the way back to the bathrooms, picnic area and parking lot. from there you can drive down the paved hill to the dunes and miles of rock or park there, eat lunch and crawl within 100' of the bathrooms.

I've been struggling to get the event ticket sales done, I keep getting pulled away by employees! I have almost all of it created in RC ORVA now, and just need to have a small tweak done to the Trail Classes so the database is proper for the event. We WILL have tickets listed today!

You guys will like the Comp Cash Pool we are offering this year. You pay in, you get paid back out for top rankings.

Cash pool sounds interesting

I'll be watching!

I've been trying to hunt down photos for everyone with no luck. I will get with desielfuel this weekend and see if he has any hiddened.

Needless to say, it is one of the favorite spots for us locals. It's endless and if you have a 4x4 you can go for days.

So 2 questions...how and when are we to submit our top 5 drivers from our local club? How many classes are required to compete for the overall this year? I see unlimited is on the itenerary which is why I ask. Looking forward to this for sure.

Your club series should be recorded on RC ORVA. We will know the series winners from that data.

The event overall title will be based on attendance in each class, up to 4 classes. Any driver participating in over 4 classes will have the top 4 best weighted scores used. So 2.2s and 2.2p will likely be the most weight, 1.9 less weight, and the rest of the classes a lower weight. IF we can implement it properly, we will have increased weight for beating a high ranked driver within a small class. This way for example, even if super class doesn't a lot of competitors there can be a good weighted score for beating drivers who are skilled. We will use data from the last few years to pinpoint the drivers to beat.

This is also why I require events and clubs to use RC ORVA to record events. After a year or two, we will have great data on who is really great at driving, and not just who gets lucky at one or two events. So if a skilled driver shows up at your event and you beat them, it will boost your rankings more than beating your regular locals. Just like how chess players are ranked.

I would like to add that the x4 race will be part of the trailmaster challenge, and so typical vehicle specs as listed on the x4 page will be replaced by the trail vehicle specs of stock, mod, and custom trail rigs. The overall trail challenges will balance out any advantage of ifs on the x4 course.

Hotel booked at the Casablanca Hotel/Casino in Mesquite. Seemed closer than driving an hour from Vegas."thumbsup"

Question about tickets....... $40 per class, ok but when i choose 2 classes my check out total is $100. That math doesn't quite check out.

I sent a email asking the same question. Also looks like trail-class gets a discount for multiple classes, wondering if classic comp (2.2p 2.2s ect.)gets a discount for multiple classes?
