Hey all.

I know this will seem a little convoluted but bear with me.
Can I bind more than one tx to a single rx? My thinking is this: I have a flysky gt5 that I use for a few of my scx24s, the rx is cheap and small. Problem is, if my son and I want to drive trucks, we can only use one of the trucks that uses the gt5.
Can I buy another gt5 and not have to rebind it everyone?
Our of both are bound to all three rxs, will it just connect to whatever rx is looking for a connection?
Basically, can I have two gt5s bound to all of my trucks and it doesn't matter witch tx or truck I grab?
I hope that all makes sense, thanks for any insight.
 
I agree with Ferp. I believe the 2.4ghz technology was introduced specifically to prevent TXs from binding to multiple RXs.

Maybe the old crystal based system would allow for what you're seeking more easily?

So I can only bind to one RX when I have multiple memories for up to 20 models ?
I would have to use that original RX in every model I have ?
It cannot bind on different RC setups using another RX ?

So much for this model memory hype ?

Dang and I just bought two new RX's for each for a different model / vehicle !?
I was under the belief that each model bound to an individual RX and was saved in the model memory ?

I was under the interpretation that each model would require is own RX memory / bind for each model stored ?

So it saves the model's memory but not the RX bind ?

Now I'm even more confused.

I have the FS GT5 if it matters.

But maybe this is simply an issue of using two different TX's binding to the same RX ?

Yeah, my statement went off half cocked. Because you can bind several RXs to one TX. My Spektrum DX5C has that model memory function where it can save the bind for a bunch of different RXs.

But two different TXs for one RX... I've never heard of an RX having model memory or in this case, "TX" memory where they could bind to different TXs.

Thanks for the clarification. I realize the RX has no memory storage.
But my transmitter (TX) can/does.
Either way I feel better now knowing I didn't waste my money purchasing additional RX's. 8)
I'd think I could bind 20 models total to 20 individual RX's. At least in my understanding ?
So I should be able to store 20 different cars in my TX's memory
as long as I have different RX's to bind the TX / RX to each other ?
1 transmitter for 20 RC vehicles. I'll let you all know when I reach 20 RC vehicles ! Lol
My SCX6 will be the first on that list 8)
Then i may bind my other 5 RC's to it as well.
1 transmitter = 20 RC vehicles. Yay for me ! 14 more to go !

As far as the OP's inquiry...
I think one could bind both TX's to an already bound / established RX.
Though I'm not sure the original bind (to the 1st TX) would still be linked ?
I don't think it would fare well if both TX's were turned on simultaneously.
But then I could be wrong as I have not attempted that.
So maybe you should attempt that and let us know how it goes ?!

You can bind as many models (each having its own Rx) to one Tx as the Tx can have in its memory, and if the Tx has an SD card for storage you're unlimited.

The Tx - Rx binding is a unique digital signature between the two. To use the Rx with another TX is has to be bound to that second Tx. The Rx can only be bound to one Tx at a time.
 
The capability to bind 2 transmitters to a single receiver is possible but it is a rare option for a few brands of high-end radio gear (I believe Sanwa and KO). It is mainly used for some classes of endurance racing where a team uses multiple drivers.

So the OP would need purchase a Sanwa or KO transmitter (and RX) (And likely need be a Team Sponsored Racer), in order to get one ?
In other words the OP should not purchase another FS GT5 transmitter and expect similar results ?
Sounds like a costly investment ! If one could actually make purchase of one ?
Which changes little on his initial inquiry.

But good of you to let them know they have other options available. (based on your belief) ?

Or buy a am radio and extra crystals
You could probably pick up a old futaba Jr sport with recivers for under 20$ each plus extra crystals
They still work great and cause no one runs them anymore you don't have to worry about someone else on your channel
