I dont make the rules, I simply said thats whats going on in the scene. Go to any hot rod/street rod car show and you will see that a majority of them are going with the bigger rims and bigger break setups. Its different strokes for different folks though. Myself personally, I like it.

Ohhh I know what most builders are doing I see its popular and all, and in some cases I even like it.
But for the most part I don't like it.
And as far as the "rules" go
I guess I like function over form though. "thumbsup"

If its done in good taste a nice large wheel package is nice. I mean showcase those huge 12" disc brakes, it looks good.

My WRX uses only 17" wheels...because thats what is optimum for handling and looks and to fit the brake system.

All I can say is my truck feels like a whole new truck and handles like a dream after I upgraded the brakes and went from a cheezy stock 15" rim to a 22" rim. It was a day and night difference on the handling. Not to mention looks ALOT better. 15" inch stock rims on a truck, what were they thinking?

that people who buy trucks might actually use them for their designed purpose? I'll take 15"-16" wheels any day over big hoops because I want a larger sidewall to absorb impacts from road debris and broken pavement. My GMC has 16" wheels stock and stops better than any vehicle I've ever owned, so the "big wheels to clear bigger brakes" line doesn't sway me either.
