Bought this one on here way, way back in the day. But recently scored another whole one for less than shipping cost me back then.
Stock it looked like this

Still has the normal features the gi joe one would, plus a bit extra.
I started a build thread a long time ago, but took it down after the photobucket debacle

Most of the drivetrain is from Traxxas t/e maxx trucks

The chassis is a 1/4 thick piece of aluminum that was cut to length to ensure the wheels were within the wheel wells.

I made a set of bumpers, first iteration:

2nd:

I gave it a swiss cheese treatment, and this is how it mounts the hood to the hinge and bumper assembly

Mocked up

This is a cool build! It looks like it came that way with more aggressive tires.

The tires are defunct imex 2.2 rubicon tires that i cut the inner bead to fit onto traxxas slayer wheels [14 mm hex] that was all they had available to fit a 14mm hex, and the e-maxx hubs. The black rings area made by ma member on here (mthead) excuse any misspelling. I have since found other wheels, and softer tires as a second set.
Had time and drew up a fairlead

Cut it out and fitted it with temporary hardware

Test fitting

Saw this cool tire mount

Well, can't hurt to try i guess

Some 3/8 brake line

Cut a piece of 8mm rod from a printer or something similar that has been disassembled by me.

Braze a stop onto the rod, and i kept the c-clip ring grove for the bottom

And this is about how far I am with the arm mechanism.
