Ok guys... This will be my first build thread on this site, so be gentle. I used to put everything on Scale 4x4rc. I've been away from rc for quite some time, but I still like to tinker here and there.
A couple of years ago I machined some axle housings and chassis for a 1/43 Fiat 125P, which turned out pretty cool, but still needs some fine tuning.... I'll get to that truck later down the road.( It needs a good maintenance rebuild. ) I'll add a couple of current pics.

For today, I'm trying to build a 1/43 Kubelwagen. I wanted 4WD, so I've adopted the idea of the Schwimmwagen front suspension and drive. ( Now, let's be real.. this is such a small scale that perfect "scale" is not going to happen. So bare with me.)
So far everything has been done with simple hand files, jewelers saw, and hand drill. I'm trying to build this as basically as possible just for my own simple enjoyment. The majority of this build will be scratch built minus items such as u-joints, electronics and base model. I sure this build will take some time, so please be patient.

Here are a few teaser pics.
Questions/comments welcomed!
Thanks ....

Is that body from a plastic model?

No, it's a static diecast model... I've just removed all of the plastic parts and stripped the paint with acetone.

I purchased the u-joints from aliexpress.com
They can also be found at Tiny4x4.com along with some micro electronics.
This will only be running a single cell 3.7v LiPo, so I'll probably just hack a micro servo for the board to make an ESC.
I have a DasMikro 4ch RX that binds just fine with my Futaba 3pv TX.
