Flysky VS DasMikro receivers

I'm adding another 8 channel receiver for my hacked GT3C which are fairly close in price. I'm not too concerned about the DasMikro being uncased as I will be adding conformal coating to whichever I buy.

The small size of the DasMikro is a plus but I was wondering how the DasMikro receiver compares to the Flysky FS-R9B for range and reliability. Anybody out there got any tips?

Do you have a link to the DasMikro receiver? Is it completely compatible with the FlySky transmitter?

Just search eBay, Aliexpress or Banggoods with "DasMikro AFHDS". DasMikro also do upgraded 8 channel GT3C transmitters with extra switches etc. One plus on their receiver is that it handles 2S voltage.

FlySky receivers can't handle 2S? Since when?

I'm just going on the quoted spec of 6.55V. If you are sure they run at 8.4v that is a good thing.

I have the FlySky GT5 and its FS-B6 receivers are rated up to 8.4V. It's crazy if the GT3 receivers are only rated to 6.55V!

That's what Flysky says they are rated to. You have to remember that these receivers came out long before the gyro enabled one.

Yeah that's crazy these days. Good to know there are other options out there.

Another thing that makes the DasMikro attractive to me is how easily you can apply a conformal coating. The back is flat so servo tape could be used to mount it.

Hmm, I'll have to consider these. One issue I do have is the big housing on the FSR6B 6ch receivers. If I could get these and just 3D print housings, that'd be perfect!
