1/24 Pro-Line "True Scale" Ambush

The ProLine guys were saying 30 minutes WOT and over an hour just crawling and messing around. 30 min charge time from lvc.

Looked at it more and looks like it the leaf spring mounts on the axle housing could be cut down by about half height to lower ride height too. :)

Good point! Stock ride height is way to high. It would be a perfect chassis for a FJ40 ...

I think for the money, the gelande II is a better choice. Yes the motor sucks, but that's a cheap and easy fix and you get metal everything with a very nice detailed hardbody.

1/18 is quite a bit larger than 1/24 though. You can't really compare them. Sure, the 1/18th has better parts, but that is because they didn't have to scale everything down all that far.

1/18th is right in between 1/10 and 1/24. I would consider the Gelande a "mini" and the Proline a "micro" scaler.

But they both use 1" wheels like a Losi Micro - the axle widths of the Geleande II, Losi Micro and the Proline will also be similar...

I will likely have to add one to my fleet of micro leaf trucks. I'll hold off initially, as I probably have at least 2 complete trekkers worth of parts to still be built into other micros, but am keeping a good eye on this one.

My only question is this:

In all of the video I have seen for these, it looks like they are very "jerky" when you start moving. The power delivery doesn't seem very smooth. Can you comment on this?

Sammy j , if you would , could you make a short video of the three different speeds , can you really see the differences in the three

All that the 3 speed function does is limit the throttle. It isn't a real 3 speed. Low provides 50% of throttle, medium 75%, and high 100%.

Where you see the difference is in the top speed of each setting.

This truck is really quite small. Here's another photo to try to show the width.

Start up and low end torque are surprisingly nice for such a small motor.

When my wife askes what I want for Christmas this year. I think I'll tell her about this. Lol. I hope I never grow up.

It would be cool if they made a rolling chassis only for this model. I don't like combo ESC/RX units, and that shell is not doing it for me.

Thanks for the pics and feedback, Sammy!

Need more pics and videos guys. I dusted off my account to obsess over this new guy (and promptly let towerhobbies have their way with my paypal account).
