10:00 Saturday Update - The start of RCX 2007!

We got to the RCP Cralwers booth at 8:00 am and got ready for the big opening day. We got all the crawlers together for a group shot of the 30-40 rc crawlers and the RCP/RCC driving crew.

10:30 Saturday Axial 2.2 tire update!

Here's Axial's new 2.2 comp tire. The tread pattern looks very promising with the spacing and size of the lugs. The compound feels good, with a little traction compound added these should be a great 2.2 competition tire.

11:30 Saturday Axial 2.2 Comp Crawler!

Check this brand new rig out, 100% Axial. Axial axles, chassis, tires & bead locks. The kit will be retailing for approximately $250-$275 with a optional dig setup. Axial will be making minor changes, i.e. the saddle pack battery setup will be gone in the final version.

Look for the official press release next month.

1:00 Saturday update.

Brain and I drew the short straws and were forced into tracking down some of the RCX show models and taking photos with them. The Kyosho models were first up, then we walked down to see the infamous Anna and co-worker.

After that rough job, we headed outside to check out the Drag Racing course. We got there just in time as his buddy Jim "rainman" Schaur was preparing for his attempt at driving his stock dragster 100+ MPH and also going for the world record. His Dragster is using a stock Lockman chassis, Thunder Power batteries and he suggests using a 5700 kv Castle Creations brushless system. Jim is a member of the Southern California miniature hot rod association.
Here is Jim's dragster completing his run.
Immediately after Jim's run there was a lot of commotion. We quickly found out that not only did he break the 100+ MPH goal, he set the new world record with a 104.09 MPH run! Great job Jim!

As Brian and I were heading back to the RCP Crawlers booth we found it a little difficult to navigate through the crowd all the way around the RCP Crawler crawling course.

6:00 Saturday update.

Proline was nice enough to loan my their Ambush (Scout) rig for a private photo shoot at the RCP Crawlers booth. The traditionally boxy Scout body looks great in scale form and should be a huge hit for diehard IH owners across the nation. I am sure RCCrawler's forums will be seeing many new build threads with this body as the focal point.
