i love this chassis it's very confortable to drive, just the ground clearance is little too higher for me , i must try some different shock mount to keep it under 9.5 cm
that's for now see u ( sorry for my to bad english )

Salut Cédric ! Emmanuel de Martinique...
Très jolie machine que la tienne ! Bienvenue sur RCCRAWLER.COM "thumbsup"
je reprends l'anglais... Not sure there's a huge difference between scx and xr shocks, you should probably test new springs (ressorts) like mini-t or losi golds IMO.
I'm still building my XR, waiting for a few parts.. This is my build thread :

Hi Cedric. Glad to see you choose the BWD Thing. its a great chassis and ytou will absolutely love it, especially after you get it dialed in. before switching to different shocks (unless you have already ordered them) i would limit the stock shocks internally which would help your ground clearance and mess with different spring rates. i really like a super soft spring setup up front and just a touch stiffer out back. i would invest in some losi golds or axial blacks. also what rod ends are you using for the shock? they look really long? good luck and if there is anything i can help ya with please let me know. there are several great build threads on this chassis to help if you need it. good luck

hi there , thanks for com "thumbsup"

AAAhhh martinique great place to leave , i spend 4 years there only good memorys
i choose scx10 shocks because the cylinder diameter is less than stock one and with this narrowed chassis i think it will be cool.

thanks man to take time to explain some tips to me :
another french friend told same like you for internally limit i gone try this weekend, next time i will invest in springs then for the rodend is the long stock one maybe a shorter will be better
i litteraly devour all the "thing" thread and i learn a lot

see you

Nice rig man! BWD all the way."thumbsup" I want to go VP wheels too. What do you think of the Axle weights and how much weight do you have on the front, any add on rigs? I'm curios cause I'm trying to decide on hub size, and how many rings will fit. What did you do for rear axle weight?

Looks like your getting her dialed in, keep on it.

Cheers Rob

Hi Cedric, great video"thumbsup". The Thing seems to be working really well for you, keep up the good work

thanks , it's a great chassis now the driver need more practice ;-)

yes i'm in love with this rig just waiting for CI foams and springs for my scx10 shocks. for the weight: i have 2added rings 0.100 and one in 0.300 on front axle , no weight added on rear axle for now
my rig weight is 2.350Kg rtr, it's work good like that, i'm going to find my gravity center for finding weight repartition, i'm not confident with this

Looks good to bad VP doesn't make more green parts :P

really bad, i love green b.d well parts sorry :ror:

friday afternoon so bad i made a pinions soup,

cassen.jpg

so i mount the rc4wd hardended kit and my scx10 shocks with losi silver spring in front and green in rear and i finally receive my CI foams ( very very impressive foams i love it ) "thumbsup"

with the new foams it react very different i must trainning a lot

monday, after a 3hour session ( very good session i love this rig ) the right front upper link snapped near the rodend

liencasse.jpg

thanks BWD for reactivity to send me a new stronger set

some update to my rig :

mosse3.jpg

my new setup of tires HB rover white dot with DDfoams 5.25 narrows soft (after testing i probably mount the extra ring in medium ) on front and narrow medium on rear put on D lux 0.700" wheels and shaved Boss claw with DDfoams 5.5 narrow soft on front and narrow medium on rear put on SLW 1"

the rover are more easily accessible and easy to take control i love it , i try to shave the front set but i'm not satified on slopes they become too soft.

with the Boss claw its actually no more jitter is strange but you get used quickly, they are more technical use in my sense it's not rookie tires, I think they do a great job I am better able to move the vehicle when I'm blocking axles

i finish my front case mod with titanium shaft, the olds one are a bit twisted, need to drill the wheel hex and it's ok

Looks like a great build so far. Might want to keep the rear axle brace on if you're still using stock plactic pieces. Just to play it safe anyways.

I believe that's a front case there.

Did you make the shafts to fit the front case or are they same as stock? I was trying to figure out how to use a front case in the rear with stock axles and I was worried about the one shaft not going into the spool the whole way.

the titanium shafts are made by EGGressor, it's specific shafts for front case mod, the stock one are too short to fit in

Honestly, I like the 5.5 closed cell inner for the rovers and the 5.25 inner for the boss claws. They seem to support the tires great and i have hardly any rollover on extreme sidhills

Nice truck mate !!"thumbsup"
Congrats for your 3d place for the 1round at the championship "thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup"
see ya at the SC

thanks man , i'm the first suprised about this rank, but i will continue to work hard to stay this way !!!!!

i change my elctronics for a second microsidewinder with THE dig NOVAK but i have some trouble to configure it :
i calibrate the esc separately with no problem, i plug them to the dig then i calibrate the dig with no problem too but after it's doesn't work, i have always a green led on and in anyway i put the 3button position i just have the rear axle works.....
