Wraith with CC SV2 settings question

I'm running the SV2 with brake set at 100% and full crawler drag brake at 213%. I went through a couple stock 20t motors, then moved to a 27t dirt tuned Tamiya. The 27t lasts longer and hasn't burned out, but does get very hot. I have a Tekin T35 pro coming. question does the 100% brake mean that the brake is active when I'm on throttle? and is that the reason the motors heat up?

The brake is not on when you are applying throttle, regardless of the settings. What gear ratio are you using? Being over geared is the most common reason motors get too hot.
