LHS hinted that horizon might be letting the AR60 die along with the 2 2 spawn and I'm wanting to put some metal axles under mine.

I want this to eventually be a class 3 sorrca rig

I am installing a 2 speed ssd trans

Help me decide which axles to get and install, I need pros and cons

the ar60s will never die !
there still used on 3 different models
but i could see axial moving on there a vary old design and they arent that strong stock but ill bet the aftermarket still suports them for another 10 years and they can be built to be almost bullet proof

Figured that would happen eventually. 2.2 gets no love.

Agreed, I run AR60's on quite a few rigs. They are tough and versatile imo. 3 gearing choices, locked or open diff, double diff outputs... lots of options not to mention a robust aftermarket. Not sure why you'd want to change. Only negative is they run the larger older style gears making for a somewhat large pumpkin though it's really not an issue with 2.2 tires.

I have run Wheely king, V1 and V2 SCX10, XR width and Capra axles under mine. Lots of options if you want to change. I'm back to AR60's on my Wraith though. Just seems to fit the rig the best.

I saw that integy makes a portal AR60 and I was really interested in that but they seem like they push the wheels out even wider on an already wide stance.

My thought using Capra axles is to bring my wheels in a bit and stay on track with the scx guys and many of the narrower axle rigs.

The ryft sounds like it's getting pushed to replace the wraith and so my thought with using these axles was to maintain parts availability.
