So I recently purchased the metal transfer case/370 motor combo meant to go in the C14/C24 frame, and had a quick thought. Has anyone else swapped this combo into a B1/B16 frame? If so, how'd ya do it?

Reckon I should also mention that I'm converting the front suspension from leaf spring to 4 link using a C14 assembly.

Here's the current idea:

Re: [HELP] 370 motor/gearbox combo in WPL B1 frame

So the basic idea I had with this was a semi-scale version of the Matt's Off Road Recovery heavy wrecker: a JJRC Q65 cab on a WPL B1 chassis, C14 4 link up front and leafs out back.

I've got a bit done to it, and got the 4 link mocked up right about where I want it. The biggest thing I'm worried about it how to build the bed like the MORR wrecker.

Got paint drying right now after a generous chop to the fenders. Pics in the next post shortly.

While it ain't International yellow, VHT gold metallic makes me think of Ed's Golden Nugget LJ20.

Got the cab roughly where it'll stay, need to fab up so body mounts. And I'm currently debating on rear steer or not. The 1:1 wrecker has it, just don't know how well it will look/function on this scale.

So after a week or so off (mentally checked out and had forgotten that I was posting on here), I got the chassis done.

Turns out, if you lop off a decent portion of a C14 frame, you can make a B-series have a 4 link front.

Got that all squared away, now time to build the motor/gearbox and wire that up.

the motor will fit fine, just flip it around so the motor is facing forward, might have to drill another hole. i have that same one in my b14
