Not sure if I should try the m2 dig or dual fxr's or side winders? I don't really want to spend a bunch of money but I know good esc's can change a crawler completely.

The v1 Sidewinder works great. You will need a punk or other dig switch.

Dual Mamba micro pros work well. You will need a hacked radio, 4pk, or wanasumit switch for dig

Same with dual fxrs

A lot of Novaks have been brough back to my LHS for spontaneously frying. I thought it was an internet myth until I saw one. I would run dual escs.

It sorta depends on your rig (space) and radio.

I can easily recommend different Castle Creations ESC's/Holmes Hobbies BR-XL or Tekin FX-R's.

I usually run CC ESC's, I currently have dual FX-R's in my 2.2 Bully MOA and a Novak M2 dig in an XR-10.

I love the CC's.
The FX-R's are not bad, but I don't like the drag brake as much as the CC's nor is the programming as nice.

I would NOT recommend the Novak M2 dig. Sorta a PITA to program, low end control no where near as good as my other choices, drag brake not as good, etc.

Depending on your radio, either it can work with some programming (like a Futaba 4PL) or with an adaptor like the LosiKid WantAmix for some 3 channel radios (like the Futaba 3PM-x I use).8)

Hope that helps.

I'm planning on running my dx6i to begin with but may change to a pistol grip radio I have 2 Novak roosters crawlers and 2 cc mamba max's but I figured they are gonna be to big for a 2.2 bully build.

Until one died, I ran dual Mamba Max's (the older version) in my 2.2 Bully. They were end to end in the belly of my Fubar Skeeter chassis.

Ive ran Novak Rooster's in pairs and a single with a dig switch...great esc but almost no drag brake...the dig switch with the single helped a lot for that set up...Ive also run dual FX/R's and loved them too...I currently run dual Mamba Micro Pro's and a Novak dig unit....works great...drag brakes are good too...Ill stick with the MMP's.

I was in your boat too at one point. My budget was limited but I went with dual FXR's anyways and it proved to be the best choice.
Very small, very light, field programmable, strong brake, easy setup, proportional dig (w/ the right radio), reliable.
I can honestly say you can't go wrong with them.

What about the out cry dual motor esc I haven't seen anyone with a build up with one of these it leaves me to think they aren't worth it

I just went from a single fxr with punk dig to dual fxr and so far I am likeing the dual fxr alot better for one everything fits better and another it is proportional and I have it hooked up to my 4pl which was very easy to set it all up.

can the SV2 not be used? i'm building a bully and was gonna get a couple SV2's for it but if they won't work i will go a different route i suppose.

You could use dual sv2's but if you leave them in the case they take up alot of room and are kinda heavy. I guess that would depend on your chassis as far as useing them. I use dual FXR's and but the time I hook them together and put a bec in the chassis on a T1E SS there isn't much room at all. I was running one FXR and a Punk Dig and I was playing tetris to get it all to fit and with both I run the rx on the back edge of the skid that sticks out.

I'm gonna run the viper 2. I plan on decasing them and meshing the heat sinks together. I may just end up getting sidewinder micros though to save weight and room. With the micros I just worry about frying one and them not covering it under warranty since I will want to replace the wires.

I am not sure if the sidewinder micros will hold up. I have never tried it myself but I don't think the circuits will handle it. I know people are useing mamba micro's which is what I almost did but since I already had one FXR I just went that way and I don't think you can get warranty on any of them if it has been modded by removing the case or changeing wire but I am not sure. I would make a call before I did it if you are worried about warranty.

Hi, I'm going to reactivate the theme because I've seen that this game is very old.

I'm looking for drives for a competition Moa. I am interested in looking for the best ones in the market today.

I am also interested in knowing if it is better to use a variator with a switch (novak) or two variators. I use a Futaba 4pl station with which I can program mixes of channels.

I have read that using two drives you may have problems with the drag brake. But I do not know if this, using a station with mixes, can be solved.

IMO you wan to run either the Mirco sidewinders or HH BR mini's. I have run both, both work very well, Both are very smooth on start up. The BR minis have a better brake and more throttle punch, is the biggest differnce imo.
