I have been messing with these cars for years but now that I am custom building something that doesnt just go down the regular 540 size 3 slot motor I am having a hard time figuring out how the different winds compare across the various sizes and slot options... and holy run on sentence batman...

But I am building a 3d printed jeep that is going to end up with ar44 axles and a planetary style transmission with separate transfer case purchased from Ali express (yeah I know.. but it fits the chassis!)

My initial thought was something like a 540 sized 35 turn brushed setup. Then there is the options of 550 motors like my TRX4 has... and then searches through the 5 slot motors into the pile and now I am truely confused lol

I am unsure how the planetary trans is going to throw a monkey wrench into the gearing but I am aiming for a good trail speed and not too fast as more parts will end up breaking as the speed goes up, and I am mailing it to Tenn so replacement parts will be a pain lol

I like the idea of the built in cooling fan in the 550 on the trx4 so.... what would be the turn equivalent for the 550 3 and 5 slot motors? I am planning on stuffing a Holmes in it.

Thanks,
Chris - old newb.

edit:motors pictured are stand-ins for size only, I have no idea the specs of that old B+R mod motor :)
