The UTRCRC 1st Annual Moab RC Crawl-Off, was again a great turn out yet with 16 crawlers competing. We had a great time and really appreciate everyone that showed up to compete and support this event. In Moab UTRCRC had a first, we had our first ever Female competitors Yes compatitors, there were two. Christina Guhman and Jillian W. They both did great and showed the men that girls could be competitive in RC Crawling too (unfortunately Jillian's TXT-1 broke a driveline durring her first run). Also we want to give a special Thank you to all those that traveled for out of state. And let us not forget our kind sponcers for providing the prise packages; West Valley Hobbies (a full set of Imex K-Rock Tires), World Class Hobbies (Battery pack and motor spray). UTRCRC also donated one of our v2 TEAM Chassis.

On with the results.

Well… We thought we would call Course 1, Crack-O-Rama. This course turned out to be a great all around course. Some sections were great for long wheel base rigs, some sections were great for wide rigs, some sections were great for narrow rigs.and some were great for short wheel base rigs. Unfortunately for me there was one section that was not kind at all to my type of rig - long whellbase, narrow width and narrowed tires. It ate the Dusty alive, I should have left the BFTs on.

Among other ledges and off-camber steps, the course had six different cracks that had to be navigated. Each Crack favored a different type of rig set-up. One of these cracks in the middle of the course was especialy EVIL... Like the fruit of the Devil. Those that were there know the one I'm talking about. The was also a nice little (narrow) ledge your had to ride that was cursed all day. All in all it was a great course with a variety of obsticals to hate and love.

Course 1 (Crack-O-Rama):
1 Teardrop Light/Kevin Guhman – 3 (penalties: 1 reverse, 2 boundary)
2 4L/Andy Heyd – 7 (penalties: 6 reposition, 1 gate marker penalties)
3 Clodmod/Courtney Simmions - 9 (penalties: 2 reverse, 3 reposition, 3 gate marker)
4 Grinder/Troy Benton – 10 (penalties: 1 reverse, 2 rollover, 3 reposition, 3 gate marker, 1 boundary)
4 MTPA Mach 1/Christina Guhman – 10 (penalties: 1 reverse, 2 rollover, 2 reposition, 3 gate marker, 2 boundary)
6 Cliff Diver/Rory Pester – 11 (penalties: 3 reverse, 1 rollover, 2 reposition, 2 gate marker, 3 boundary)
6 The Duke/Chris Ladd – 11 (penalties: 1 reverse, 2 rollover, 3 reposition, 4 gate marker, 1 boundary)
8 Sleepless/Jason Kallas – 13 (penalties: 1 reverse, 1 rollover, 2 reposition, 7 gate marker, 2 boundary)
9 Three B/Mike Thompson – 16 (penalties: 4 reverse, 4 reposition, 3 gate marker, 4 boundery, 1 time penalty)
9 Rainmaker/Tim Dodd – 16 (penalties: 5 reverse, 3 reposition, 2 gate marker, 3 boundery, 2 time penalty, 1 maximum)
10 Rock v2/Ty Goudl – 28 (penalties: 5 reverse, 2 rollover, 6 reposition, 4 gate marker, 11 boundary)
11 EX-CB/James Dodd – 29 (penalties: 3 reverse, 7 rollover, 17 reposition, 1 gate marker, DNF)
12 TXT/Jillian W. – 29 (penalties: 3 reverse, 1 rollover, 12 reposition, 6 gate marker, 2 boundary, 1 maximum, DNF)

UTRCRC Scores (we were not counted towards the official scoring due to the fact we solicited the prizes involved)
00 Furless v2/Brett Thorne – 5 (penalties: 1 rollover, 2 gate marker, 2 boundary)
00 Martha v2/Jason Craig – 7 (penalties: 5 reverse, 1 reposition, 1 gate marker)
00 Dust v2/Matt Davis – 12 (penalties: 2 reverse, 1 rollover, 1 reposition, 1 gate marker, 4 boundery, 1 maximum)

Course 2, Easy Chair. Again we (the course builders) handed the task of designing the second course to all the rest of the competitors. So they took the chalk and gate markers and a few of the guys got to it.

This course ended up as a fun as it first looked challenging. Once on the course it was easyer than it first looked. Even the 3 foot cliff dropped proved to be easyer than expected. Low scores were dominant on this course with 4 zero scores and 3 scores of one, with the highes score being 12. It was a great end of the day course to wind down and relax after an intense first round.

Course 2 (Easy Chair):
1 4L/Andy Heyd – 0
2 Teardrop Light/Kevin Guhman – 0
3 Grinder/Troy Benton – 1 (penalties: 1 gate marker)

Re: UTRCRC 1st Annual Moab RC Crawl-Off Results.

No thats not accurate at all! The official results are as follows:

1 Teardrop Light/Kevin Guhman – 3
2 4L/Andy Heyd – 7
3 Grinder/Troy Benton - 11
4 Cliff Diver/Rory Pester – 12
5 The Duke/Chris Ladd – 14
6 Sleepless/Jason Kallas – 14
7 Clodmod/Coutney Simmions – 16
8 MTPA Mach 1/Christina Guhman – 16
9 Rainmaker/Tim Dodd – 18
10 Three B/Mike Thomson – 23
11 Rock v2/Ty Goudl – 40
12 EX-CB/James Dodd – 43
13 Furless v2/Brett Thorne – N/A
14 Martha v2/Jason Craig – N/A
15 Dust v2/Matt Davis – N/A

The scoring as it pertains to the UTRCRC team was strickly between the competators and NOT the official results. We need to give credit where credit is due, and that is to those that where competing for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishes.

Thanks again to all that showed up and competed. It was a great experience and I hope that we can all get together again soon.

Congrats again to the top 3 finishers.

Congrats to the winners. And thank you to everyone who competed in a positive sportsman-like manner. Lets keep these competitions fun for all by being gracious winners and non-winners. UTRCRC has a great time holding these events and want to continue to do so in the future. It's important for us all to show the utmost respect for the land we use and the others we compete with.

Thanks to West Valley Hobbies (wvhobbies.com) and World Class Models (worldclassmodels.com) for the domated prizes.

link to more pics soon.

Peace... Bitches. :flipoff:

Re: UTRCRC 1st Annual Moab RC Crawl-Off Results.

...anyone wanna buy a really cool buggy?

What a blast! Thanks for all the work putting the event together. Special props to Matts wife who was stuck keeping score all day, thanks.

I know James had a really good time as well. He will be back with a new rig next comp 8)

I didnt miss ya :flipoff:  , but wish ya cooda made it.

I sucked hind teat in the comp but it was a fun time and really enjoyed meeting/seeing everybody. Thanks much Pinchy, Kaetwo, JtoTheC, Mrs. Pinchy and everyone else who made it happen. 8)

I was very, very pleased with the Jumbo Swamp's, I dont think my piss-poor performance had anything to do with my tires or vehicle. It was all driving errors. When we went out and did some follow the leader on Sunday the Swamp's performed real close to the Giant Tracs. The Giant Tracs were still better but the two rigs running swamps were right there although usually with a little more effort.
Of the tires I have used and seen used, the Jumbo Swamp Dawg's seem to be the next best thing to Giant Tracs IMHO.
