The idea on this is to, if we wanted to compete in the states to have a rig ready not build another truck. Took some rules from the scale rules.

Curtis Bautista R/C Tough Truck Challenge Rules​
 
Class Description:
1.9 Tough Truck Class (Class 2)
*Description - A stock vehicle that has been modified to become a capable trail rated rig.
2.2 Top Truck Class (Class 3)
*Description - An off-road vehicle that you would build from the ground up and might see in a TTC/KOH type competition.
 
General Rules For All Classes:
1. NO comp crawlers.
2. NO MOA axles, MUST have only (1) frame / skid mounted motor & driveshafts.
3. NO Cut-N-Shut tires
4. NO hands of god (H.O.G.) = DQ for the course.
5. NO tire changes. What you start with, you must finish with.
6. Tire height limited only to what is available ny manufactures.
7. Must use scale tires, NO comp tires
8. Having a WINCH is recommended. Sand ramps or ladders is not ALLOWED. Pull Pal's is allowed, but must carry in your rig at all times. Winching can only be performed off of natural objects (i.e. trees, rocks, etc...)
9. For the sled pull NO adding weight / winching down / locking suspension what so ever. A single connection points either to chassis / axle / shock. No combination of connection point.
10. Batteries. NO limit on cells, but you MUST run that battery setup in all events. As we will be marking connector(s) and batteries.
11. Motor. Single engine rigs only. Same motor through out the event. If your motor goes out and needs to be replaced, you must show us your motor is NO good. NEEDS to be at least the same turn / kv.
12. BOTH CLASSES, NO COMP OR TVP CHASSIS, NO FRAME EXTENSIONS TO MAKE IT SCALE EITHER, PERIOD. THIS IS A SCALE EVENT GUYS. Example of these chassis are: SWX, J2-TT, GC-2, edge, eclipse, hustler, etc.... Vehicles must have a frame-railed chassis. Tube framed rails okay.

Banned Tire List:

• Losi Claws and Comp Claws
• Imex red rocks, rubicons, truck pulls, skulls and bones
• Hot Bodies Rovers and Sedonas
• HPI Rock Grabbers
• All Panther Tires
• All Jconcepts Tires
• Full-width Mashers, narrowed are OK, no wider than 1.75".
• Pro-Line Chisels and Badlands
• RC4WD Rocklins, Crazy crawlers and X-locks
• Any on-road, buggy tires or truck racing type tire
• Non listed tires must be judged and we reserve the right to modify this list as new comp tires are released.
 


1.9 Tough Truck Class (Class 2) Details
*Body/cage work must be at least 4.5" tall (including boat sides) and the inside of the front tires cannot extend outside of the width of the cab at the doors.
*Wheelbase must "FIT" vehicles concept / body.
*A front bumper is required and must be mounted to the vehicle's rail chassis and must be wider than the outside of the chassis rails (chassis cross rails do not count as bumpers)
*You must run a full rail chassis, and the chassis (including bumpers) must be 3" longer than the wheelbase (this includes a chassis with a truggy rear frame).
*Must run a complete body, including bumpers, fenders, doors, tailgate. Some fender trimming is allowed but the basic shape must be retained. Fenders maybe cut, or flat fendered, but it must resemble a 1:1 rig you'd see on the street. If you remove the tailgate, you must have a complete floor and drop bed. If you wantto remove your doors, you must run a full interior.
*NO 4 wheel steer or rear steer at all!! If you have more than (2) axles, the FRONT axles are the only ones that can steer.
*Vehicles battery must be mounted on the chassis. You CANNOT mount the battery ON the steering servo / axle / upper links. The goal is to place the battery where it is not visible for a more scale appearance.
*4.75" max tire size with a 1.9 max rim size including spare.
 
2.2 Top Truck Class (Class 3) Details
* 5.75" max tire size with a 2.2 max rim size (including spare).
*Gates will be a minimum of 13" wide
* You must run a complete body, including bumpers, fenders, doors & tailgates. Some fender trimming is allowed but the basic shape must be retained, Fenders may be cut, or flat fendered, but it must resemble a 1:1 rig you'd see on the trail.
* A shortened or lengthened body is allowable. A tubed bed is fine(rear fender and tailgate rules do not apply to tubed beds).
* 4 wheel steer & dig allowed (1) per course & subject to TIME PENALTY
* Vehicle battery must be mounted on the chassis. You CANNOT mount the battery ON the steering servo/axle/upper links. The goal is to place the battery where it is not visible for a more scale appearance.

" TUBERS " If you plan to run a tuber in EITHER class, here is what you need to know. It must have a full interior, 2 front seats SIDE BY SIDE, a dash, a steering wheel, a hood panel, a roof panel and a left and right side panel. If it is a jeep, it needs to resemble a jeep. The minimum size for the tubers is as follows:

Height 5 " , measured from bottom of skid pan to the roof top
Width 5 " , measured from the middle of the door bars, side to side
length, your chassis needs to be ATLEAST as long as your wheelbase, measured with the front tires pointed straight and the vehicle at rest.

NOTE: this does not apply if you have a truggy or back halfed truck with a conventional frame and cab.
