I am wanting a more scale look to my trx-6 ultimate hauler and saw a guy on Facebook mount RC4wd semi wheels with rear duals on his. He said he was doing a portal delete, but I was curious to see if these or the Tamiya semi wheels would clear the portals? Has anyone tried it?

i dont know for sure but judging by the issues people are having with some 1.9s im gona say no tamiya wheels wont clear the portal boxes if i remeber coretly the tamiya semis use a 1.55 wheel but my memory isent that great so you would need to research it a bit before you buy

Most Semi-truck wheels are 1.7", but aren't bead-locks - so the inner wheel diameter isn't as tight as they could be.

Boom Racing makes Dually adaptors for their 5-lug bead-locks, which are available in 1.9"...

Pretty sure the design will clear portals, as they are the type that use the hub bolts to hold the wheel parts together.

They almost clear the stock portals, just a mm or two. With a slightly wider hex, no problem. Might need to ream out the centers a bit to get over the 6mm lip on the axle depending on how wide the hexes are.

You'll definitely need the longer Bronco stub axles for sure to be able to get a nut on though since there's 2 wheels there, the shorter style only had a thread or two poking out.

I just threw them together quick, but it certainly looks doable. Something like the Treal +5 kit would be perfect - longer axles and wider hexes.

Hmm, gotcha thanks for the heads up. I will do some more research.
