I installed the Traxxas low range (crawl) gears (# 9776R) in my High Trail because it was too fast and jumpy in stock form. After the installation of these gears, it was dog slow. So I then installed the Holmes Hobbies 66T motor. It is better, but still lacking a little speed for my liking. I know, I know. I'm never happy! Since the installation of these parts, there are a ton of new motor options on the market.
The most intriguing to me is the Traxxas # 6250 because it looks to have a super smooth and silent start-up and is a plug-and-play drop-in. Does anybody have this brushless setup installed along with the #9776R Low Range gears?
I could also just change my motor to the Injora 48T, 55T or Meus 44T. Do any of you have experience with these motors along with the Traxxas Low Range Crawler gears?
There are two-speed transmissions and I don't really want to add that complexity and weight to this truck.
You can even get the Injora 370 size motor and transmission, but I'm not really interested in doing that.
Any other options you would suggest?
