Hey,
So I'm going to be building a Nissan D21 single cab truggy. Bit like the rc4wd and tamiya hilux wraith truggy builds you see on YouTube and Google images. I'm going to build mine out of the bully 2 kit, using the stock chassis basically with the upper cage/buggy section removed. Kinds from the window sills to the roof will be removed, keeping the stock shock mounts and link mounts, I think. Will work out exactly what I'm doing when I get the body and bully 2 kit and see how its all going to fit.

I'll be building the roll cage, front Bumper/bar and dove tailed tray out of aluminum tube or solid rod. I'll be 7mm or 8mm outside diameter. So my main question is would aluminum tube be strong enough if I brace everything well? I'm trying to keep the weight as low as possible and would rather not use solid rod unless tube isn't going to be strong enough.
What's your thoughts guys?
Thanks, just in the stage of getting all the parts and kit ordered so the build should be kicking off early December.
Building a MOA comp crawler truggy is something I haven't seen done before so it'll be cool to have something no one or at least not many people have. I won't be using it for competitions but I wanted to have all the top performance that the MOA comp crawler's have but still get to enjoy building my own cage and body.
Appreciate your advice.
Also iv got good quality spool gun mig welder and a fair bit of experience welding and fabrication. Not qualified bit I know how to weld, bend tubing, make mount's, etc. Just not use to working with such small materials. Gonna be an enjoyable build, which I think is the best part of rc hobby, getting to build your own rig. Not into RTR stuff, always Kit versions for me.
Thanks snyds
