We started an R/C Mega Truck Series and held our first event last week here in St. Louis. Instead of posting threads after each event I figure I'll just update this one from time to time. We run a full qualifying and heads up elimination program.

So awesome!

I too have a Barbarian MT, and I need to get some megatruck tire / wheel combo for her.

Are those narrowed TXT / Clod tires on a few of those rigs?

Yes a few of us are using narrowed Clodbuster tires/wheels with Crawford Performance 12mm hex adapters. I really wish RC4WD would just scale up the mud basher.

I thought those looked like clods!

I agree with you on the rc4wd. My guess is they probably will eventually release a 2.2. But who knows.

Thanks for the response.

I saw the article on BigSquidRC, then found the thread on here.

Almost seems a shame to have such good looking rigs get that dirty, but then again, it sure looks like fun.

They clean off easy :)

The nice thing about our track is it's behind a machine shop so we can run water and airhoses to the track for very quick clean-off after a round of racing.

Good to know.

And that does make for a pretty convenient setup.

Out of curiosity, how well does the CPE Barbarian chassis perform in trail/crawling conditions? Or is that not really on its menu?

Crawford designed these chassis for the growing number of people building Wraith-Based Monster trucks. They are primarily competition for the race Race Clods

But hey, just because that's what they are intended for, doesn't mean someone can't color "outside the lines".

Disconnect the sway bars, and have fun.

Hmmm... -strokes beard- I'm ok with coloring outside the lines; I usually start with a blank sheet anyway. Making a mental note for a potential future project.

Most of us are actually running the mega barbarians without sway bars connected because with them they are too dang stiff. They wouldn't be ideal for crawling but you could do it with a soft enough suspension package. As tedo said though, they were designed for monster truck racing.
