Hello everybody. is the Traxxas trx 4 (defender) a good crawler for a newby? Does it worth the price? is there some newer craler better than the TRX4? Thanks!

Welcome to RCC Luis Ferrero! There are many good crawler options these days and opinions vary, look around at the sub-forums, read the stickies and some build threads, watch some peeps videos and see what you like. Linked suspension, leaf springs, lexan body, styrene hardbody, 1/24, 1/10 scale, etecetera. :)

The TRX4 is a great truck to start with. If you are just looking to crawl and trail run, its not a bad truck to get. If you are looking at competing at all, recommend getting a TRX5 Sport, the wheel base is shorter.

The Defender is the first model they came out with. The newer models like Blazer, Sport, Bronco, have the shorter wheelbase, which will get over obstacles better and won’t high center as easy.
With that said you can’t go wrong with any TRX4 model. Very solid platform and Traxxas takes good care of customers.

The TRX4 is a great scale crawler. Once you have spent some time driving it you will find things you want to upgrade and the TRX4 enjoys a tremendous amount of aftermarket part support so virtually any upgrade you may decide on is available.
