Traxxas EVX2 LVC issues

Now I know it isn’t strictly a crawler as such but thought I’d ask here on the offchance…

I recently picked up a used but stock Traxxas Summit.

Tested it on some partly charged 2s packs and it appeared to either cut out (lost throttle but retained steering) or go into a limp or half power mode.
I assumed this was the LVC cutting in and so fully charged the same packs and tried again. Problem still present.

Tried some different packs, problem still persists, albeit not as bad.

Having researched this, wondered whether it was the stock LVC cutting in and so switched the ESC over to nimh mode and the problem goes away. Ran fine for 5 mins, varying throttle positions etc making me sure it’s the ‘stock’ LVC halting play.

I know I could switch out the ESC to another aftermarket one with an adjustable LVC, or run a pair of external low voltage alarms but I’m certain it shouldn’t run like this in it’s stock formation.

Does anyone have any experience within this or could suggest anything to try?

Thanks

ya
that never fails to piss off a traxxassss esc

in my opinion there only good for the smoke show thats bound to happen cause well traxxasss

To be honest I’ve never had a bad experience with Traxxas electronics, I’ve done 1 steering servo in a crawler and the same in an XMaxx.

I’ve 4 TRX4’s at the moment, 2 still on stock steer servos, 2 Defenders on stock micro servos, got all my stock fully working ESC’s and motors too [emoji2960]

Found the problem with the Summit though. It isn’t keen on the batteries I’m using, tried some others and it’s bliss [emoji1688]

You must be really unlucky or I just have luck on my side.
