SO I burned up my stock axial servo a couple weeks ago and was completely broke. I bummed around the internet and came across this site on the front page of this very site. hobbypartz.com So i checked it out and found the servo Im reviewing. It's the Tower Pro 995MG. I read the page on it and was amazed that they were on sale 2 for $25. And they are 208oz/in.@6v and are good for up to 8.4v. Gotta be too good to be true. Its obviously chinese but for a guy on a tight budget why not. Ordered and shipped. First thought when I got it was how heavy they are. Hefty and large. The case was about 1/16in. bigger than stock. Dropped it in and started it up. First thing, the servo was CONSTANTLY twiching. It never wanted to find center. I wasnt surprised because I was using a syntisized 27mhz losi radio and that radio causes a lot of servo noise. A couple days later I picked up a 2.4ghz losi setup and that cured the twiching problem. NOW time to run it. Took it onto the rocks and noticed that it was a bit slower than my stock servo, but WAY stonger. I should probably add Im running a 7.2v intellect Mini lst pack as a receiver pack. Ran the servo all night without a single problem. Ive run the truck about 4 times now and its working out great. Its strong, a little slow, but gets the job done. A lot of guys are very brand loyal for servos but being a guy on a budget the cheapest viable option is the one Im choosing. Long term durability is up in the air but as for an alternative to get a guy through till he can get the real deal servos it will more than do the job. Sorry for the fuzzy pic my camera doesnt focus well close up.

They're great, but next time you should get if from jpcustomrcs ;-). It's run2jeepn on here. He's been great to deal with, and has lot's of other cool stuff as well.

The MG995 is the old Servo TP made. They are still being made, but the MG946R is a btter choice. I believe TP is working on a Higher Torque Standard Size servo. Something over 300oz... So I was told a while back.

Looks like I know where to get my next servo from ^^^^^^^^^^. I would have ordered it from run2jeepin but I had no Idea:roll:. Like my name says Im a little slow.lol Im confused because the servo I got was advertised @ 15kg and the 946R is advertised @ 12kg so how is the 946 stonger?

Got a few. Sometimes they last a week, sometimes a few months. They end up developimg a little slop and will wiggle back and forth tring to find center. But you get what you pay for. 2 for 22 aint bad.

The 946r is the upgrade to the 995...it is a typo when it comes to the strength of the servos. I have seen the 995mg rated at different sites ranging from 10kg to 15 kg. But the 946r is definetly a better servo. Just a little faster, but is still kind of slow imo, but the 946r has upgraded circuitry?? or how ever you spell it, and it centers and doesn't make as much noise. These servos do have a problem if you are running a lot of wheel weight, like 5 oz and battery packs on the axles. I burnt out 2 of them on my clod... WTF!!!! I couldn't figure it out at first. Thought I was over stressing them by a back steering set up. But found when I didn't run wheel weights and just the battery packs the servos ran perfect. Never warm no matter how fast or back and forth moving. Great deal for the servos. I run them in everything....Even my race REVO and they have been holding up just great.

I bought two of these suckers about 2yrs ago. they both still work. I thought I would anty up to a HItec servo soon. I didn't know people were using these guys."thumbsup"

The fastest way to burn up a Servo is Binding in your Steering. Make sure you have no Binding and EPA's set and they will last just as long as other Servo's.

ok can someone point me to place to order a set I spent most of my money on a radio and need a cheap servo just untill I can get a Hitec 7955 "thumbsup"

Got my servo in the mail yesterday but the plug don't look like a futaba plug do these need to be changed :?:

The Futaba has a tab on the plug from what it looks like on the battery on/off switch that goes into the Rx.
I just looked at my Novak ESC and it has the same type plug as the servo???
How do I know which way the plug should go in?????????
Yes it's been a LONG Time over 15 years lol............
