Torque Steer and shocks micro crawler

Hey I just got the new Trail Trekker from Losi and I was wondering if there are ways of reducing the large amount of torque steer that I get going up steeper grades.

Also, in regards to the suspension, I get about 2 inches of flex keeping all wheels on the ground, and the older version seems to get more than that from what I see on youtube and in pics. Can anyone give me an idea of what travel they're losi micro gets, and if the shocks have the same amount of travel? I have about 3/8 inch per shock.

Don't be discouraged from getting this little micro though I still love the thing!

Thanks for the help guys,
Steve

To learn about torque twist, go down to the "Venom Creeper" forum found on the main page here.
Then, read some of the stickies at the top, they discuss basic geometry to reduce TT.

Maybe another Losi Micro person will chime in with personal experiance ideas.

Torque steer or torque twist? They are different and have different causes.

As for the amount of articulation, this new truck is meant to be a scaler...which wont have as much articulation as a "comp" crawler...

now that you say torque twist that seems to fit the issue more.

A losi rep chimed in on another post I had about the shocks and explained the issue: limiters on the shocks to prevent body rub from the articulation.

I will check out the forum too Charlie. Thanks for helping out the newbie's like me!

We were all n00bs at one time...some still are.....:lmao::lmao:

I only stated the Venom Creeper forum since they have the same issue with torque twist. Lots of info (in the stickies) on how to reduce/fix it.
Likely the same general info will be usefull to you."thumbsup""thumbsup"

Well, unfortunately that is something you have to deal with when driving a shaft driven crawler. It is directly related to the rotation of the motor and ring and pinion gears in the axles. There are certain things you can do to reduce the amount of torque twist you see....rear upper link placement, shock setup, spring setup. The best "band aid" for torque twist I've ever used is overdrive gears (not necessarily in the crawler you listed).
