Torque, depending on gearing & # of motor turns

Hi, I don't know that much about rc vehicles, an I was wondering: if you have a 55t motor with a top speed of 6kp/h and a 35t motor with the same top speed, will you have the same torque :?:

X2, the higher turn motor generally has more torque but less rpm per volt, you'd have to gear it up to have same top speed as 35T. I've found a good 35T 540 motor is great all around crawler motor, but Traxxas Titan 550 motor 21T on 3S is my favorite...torque and speed that runs cool. "thumbsup"

I bought the traxxas titan 21t 550 for my kit along with the hobbywing 1080.

I heard the Holmes trailmaster sport 21T 550 is a little bit better but the traxxas was on Amazon.ca so i saved a ton on shipping with prime.

you'll be happy with the 1080/21T traxxax/3S combo, I'm running that in a few of my rigs and I'm extremely happy with it.

I don't understand the answers you are getting. If according to your question they have the same top speed, then no, you will have more torque with the 35t setup. Same top speed implies a gearing change of some kind since a 35t has more RPM than a 55t.

If you simply swap in a 35t motor with the same gearing as the 55t, then you will have higher top speed and less torque due to the higher turn count of the motor.

A geared down 35t is super common here. Changing to a 35t motor and dropping a few teeth on the pinion would be an excellent option. Would give you about the same top speed, but with much more torque.

The 21T suggested are 550 cans so there will be more torque and speed for the same gearing.

The only disadvantage i've found in crawling with the larger 550 motors is they're a little less smoother on the start up and at very low speeds but despite that i'm still a big fan.

I prefer something like a 27t motor geared really low on 3s for crawling vs something like a 55t motor geared for the same wheel speed.
