Hey y'all. Just getting back into the RC world. I've got a couple FMS rig, but I just an Axial utb18 Capra. I'm blown away at how things have advanced over the past 20 years. So my only complaint about the Capra is the tire compound seams to be a bit hard. Is there a way to soften the tire compound? Heard WD40 will soften tires. Thanks for any help.

Liquid Wrench actually worked better for me when it came to this. However, it comes at a cost.

All of the "tire traction compounds" literally attack the tires chemical structure. This causes the tires to wear and degrade at a much faster rate.

Personally, I don't mind harder compound tires, specifically if I'm going to do more trail running than crawling. Honest opinion here, instead of futzing with trying to force a tire to be what it's not, I'd buy a set of rims, foams, weights, tires, and build what I need before going the chemical route ever again.

Just my $.02.

X2 on coul8tr said. Or get some cheap knockoff aliexpress tires.
