I know this should probably be in the tire n wheel section, but figured it would be seen more so here...
So my question or idea for yall is alternative tire adhesives. Bein as we all seem to be in the crawler scene, is it really neccasary to 'glue' our tires? Glueing our tires to the rims is such a pain to UNDO. Not to mention it can be a rather sticky situation to do glue them on in the first place lol, pun intended.
Ive been workin on my monster truck build quite a bit. I took her out for a spin with the new tires n wheels sunday n noticed one had came off the rim. I think it happened wen i turned a lil to sharp. Any way, theyre not glued for the simple fact i dont rightfully wanna ruin my wheels if i ever need to get new tires. Plus they seem to fit tight to the wheels at the bead n the foams are a squeeze fit as well.
That bein said, heres my thought/idea for alternate adhesive... Wat yall think bout using silicone? Like the permatex gasket maker? Ive used it to put the badges back on my 1:1 vehicles n have yet to have any fall off. Theyve been permatexed on for over 4yrs lol. Do yall think itd hold the tires on the wheels good enuf? It wouldnt take much around the bead, plus is waterproof n its flexible. On the plus side, it wouldnt take much to clean it off the wheels if u needed new tires. Im thinkin of tryin it, but thought id get some of yalls input before i did...
Thanks for the insight, its much appreciated!
