The Colorado Scale Series (CSS) is a 7 comp point series to bring together the RC scaling commmunity of Colorado and to determine the best drivers in each scale class of each region and ultimately the best drivers in each class for the state!

Regions will be loosely divided into four "areas" Northern Colorado, Southern Colorado, Western Colorado and Central/Eastern Colorado.

Each region will appoint a "Regional Coordinator" to organize/host the series comps, track comp and series scores, payouts and handle awards/prizes for that region.

If you would like to help organize a Scale series in your region and/or would like to be the Coordinator for your region or want to nominate someone to be a regional coordinator please post up or PM us for details.

Series Points
-This will be a points series, 1st place will receive 100 points, 2nd. 99 points, 3rd. 98 and so on.
-The driver(s) with the best score on each course will get 1 bonus point.
-There will be one "drop" for the series, ie; a drivers lowest comp score will be drop from his/her total score for the series.

Drivers wanting their scores to be tracked for the Series Scale off will have a one time $10 series pay-in to the regional coordinator. Series pay-ins will help pay for comp supplies and trophies/prizes for the region and trophies/prizes for the Scale off.

The series points are used to qualify for the Colorado All State Scale Off that will be held at the end of the series. Date and location TBD by regional coordinators and possibly put to a vote by the attending drivers.

Drivers are encouraged to attend Series comps in other regions and can be tracked in multiple regions to increase their chance to run the All State Scale Off.

Comp details:
CSS comps will use the SORCCA rules and vehicle class guidelines for each event. All vehicles must fall into SORCCA technical guidelines for classes 1, 2 and 3.
All vehicles must fall into SORCCA technical guidelines for classes 1, 2 and 3.

SORCCA info can be found here.

In addition to this years Scale Series we are incorporating the Trail Comp Class for all new drivers to enjoy a more relaxed competitive event, with a focus on "box stock" trucks.

Scale Comp / Trail Comp Course Design
A competition will consist of 3-5 seperate courses for each class.

A course will comprise of 10-15 gates with a minimum of 5 minutes time for completion per course. Trail Comp Class will have a minimum of 7 minutes per course.

A gate will be marked with at least 2 gate markers spaced a minimum of 16 inches apart. Arrows on the gate markers or chalk marks will denote the direction or progress through the gate.

Class 1, Class 2, Class 3 and Trail Class trucks will have separate courses.

Scale Points.
All vehicles must be teched and scale points tallied by yourself prior to the start of an event. If you questions about scale points or how to tally scale points, post up here and we will help you out.
Scale points however have nothing to do with vehicle legality, just the bonus points you will receive for the scale details of each truck you enter. Vehicles will be teched at the beginning of the day for class legality.

Trail Comp Class trucks may have scale accessories but no scale points will be applied to the drivers scores.

Regional Coordinators will determine payouts for each series comp and will be responsable for awards/trophies for their specific region at the end of the season.

The top 5 drivers in each class from each region will go on the Scale Off comp at the end of the season.

Please post up if you have any questions, comments or concerns "thumbsup"

Drivers, please write down ALL your info in the appropriate columns on your score sheets. it makes it difficult to tabulate scores when scale points are missing
