SSD diamond front axle w/ SSD brass knuckles and Samix aluminum C-hubs
SCX10 iii portal axles in rear
TGH2.low
Yellow Jacket 2000k for now.
G11 servo for now.
InTheWorksRC links.

I have a 2050 revolver snub nose as well as a HH SVH800 on the way to replace current motor and servo. Currently it is set up with CMS and a 3 link suspension. I also have the actual set of links I will end up using for this rig on their way now. Once the new links and servo arrives I will be running this AMS with 4 a link suspension.

I will let the pictures do the rest of the talking for now.

More to come soon!

Killer stance!

I'm trying to wrap my head around how much OD you're gonna have. Doesn't the 2-lo already have 30% OD, and then you're making the rear even slower with portal gears? Or did you switch the gears in the 2-lo to make the rear driveshaft spin faster than the front or something?

In the rear I am running the 15t/20t overdrive portal gears along with the 27t/8t overdrive ring/pinion. The front has the 33t/8t underdrive ring/pinion. I have not actually calculated it out to find out exactly what the percentage is now.

Gotcha. I'm running a d44 front with underdrive, and 14/21 OD gears in my rear scx10 iii portal. With the 6% overdrive in my VFD, I'm right about 37% OD. I got 15/20 gears to bring it down to ~26%, but I think I like it where it is.

I guess with the OD diff gears also, it won't be too crazy high. I had to pull my rear OD diff gears to install reverse cut gears, since I flipped the diff in my rear axle and wanted to keep the pinion high.

I still plan on tinkering around with it a bit. I do have a reverse cut gear to install on the way so I can put the drive shaft in the upper position but its the stock gearing 30t/8t so that will make the front OD more again. Just did some calculations and if my math is right its sitting somewhere around 39% right now, which isn't too bad IMO.

Not sure why I didn't think of this sooner but the answer to the gear ratio was sitting in my lap the whole time! I am pretty sure I can just flip the 2.low around so the rear gets the 30% OD instead. I have some math to do to see what gearing I need to have in the rear axle to get the best front to rear percentages. I am shooting for something 30% or under. As stated above I am around 39% at the moment I believe.

Did some quick math and keeping all the gearing I have except for the front under drive, since I will be switching this out with a reverse cut w/ stock gearing. Simply by flipping the 2.low it should put my OD to about 13%. I may try that and see how I like it.

Thanks for getting my wheels spinning...no pun intended!

I asked if you flipped the skid in my first post, then saw that you didn't and edited it out.

I'd try to avoid doing that, just because it's gonna move the motor towards the rear. I guess it's not that much of a difference, though.

I hear what you are saying and as minimal as it would be IMO it is to be considered. I do have a TGH FMM w/ creeper T that I could swap out. The creeper T is easily flipped and then the FMM would keep things well forward, LOL. Although I like how low things are with the 2.low.

I will play with alternate configurations a bit and see where I end up.

New setup that I will be testing.

I flipped the 2.low

Rear axle;
Swapped out the OD portal gears back for the stock ones.
Still keeping the OD ring and pinion in rear.

Front axle;
Swapped out the under drive gear for the reverse cut stock ring and pinion.

If my math is correct I am now sitting at about 23% OD and that should be pretty nice actually.

Update;

Its been a while and I have changed things up a bit since my last post. I did some swapping of parts and bodies on a few rigs and my cheater rig is now a completely different rig altogether (other than the body). I took the axles and chassis from this for my class 2.

New cheater;
-Blue Gspeed rails
-Blue delux short shocks
-Blue 2.low
-Blue TGH wheels
-capra axles
-SHV800 axle mounted servo
-13" wheel base

I set up the links very similar to the g-shot and I have been really liking the way this performs.
