The Ascent and Fusion have to be near the top or at the very top of the list as far as value and performance. What other 1/18th RTR crawler can outperform the Ascent??
Looking forward to see if they can outdo themselves this year....the crawler segment needs these types of releases.
FMS and Vanquish was also looking very strong this past year!

Would also love to see something from Kyosho and Tamiya in 2025. Kyosho has the ability to make some killer lexan bodies

The Ascent-18 keeps tempting me. It was really tempting on sale. I wish they offered it in a brushless version. The Fusion only has the Fusion SE 1800KV motor so it's kind of a letdown IMO. I wish Redcat offered both the 1/10 Ascent and Ascent-18 in kit form.

I've found myself eyeing the 1/10 Fusion last year, that seemed good value to me at the time and personally like the looks of it. Never went any further though.
Yeah hard to build something like it from scratch for the price and not much else you really need to add to it.

The HobbyPlus CR-18P EVO PRO seems like a pretty convincing alternative.

I’ve always looked at the hobby plus line but never pulled the trigger to make a purchase. There were a few models that were cross compatible with parts. 1/18 scale the only other “contender” I would guess is the Trx4m.

I see WPL and MN making a good competition, especially in the scale side of things. They are cheap too and have plenty of parts available as upgrades. In the hands of a 2 year old they did pretty well.

FWIW fms has their 1/18 series but lends to scale, not performance. Can’t comment on their 1/10 scale stuff but their FCX24 line was nice. The bodies looked pretty good too. I don’t see many upgrades available though.
